I had my pre-op yesterday with my physicals, labs, pictures, pre-admit, etc... and they say I'm good to go for my surgery next Wednesday. Its very surreal and hard to believe that after such a long and trying road that the start of a new way of life is almost here. I'm very excited and ready. I need to stay focused and not get to anxious. This will be my first ever surgery so I'm a bit nervous, but I also work in the medical field and see surgical patients all of the time, so I know most do very well. One week!!!!

All the best Med1862, I'm with you. I go tomorrow for my physical, lab, and whatever else they come up with. Scheduled same day as you at 10:00 AM. Not anxious as I feel my middle name is "surgery". I now have a mind set what will be will be, but then I'm 71. Wishing you the best, since you are in the medical field, you know what you need to do to succeed. One week will be thinking of you as I go into the operating room

Wait till you get to the night before . It's an awesome journey even tho I had a rough time after surgery I would do it again in a heartbeat.
