Recommended Posts

So I am impatient and already called me insurance company. I think that I needed to hear from THEM that they were reviewing my file. And they are!!! They still claim 3-5 days! Ahhhh. This week is going to be rough! Once u have official approval I will be better!

Hi, all...any December folks who are Boomer aged? I'd love to find a sleeve buddy that is "more mature"...at least age wise. My date is Dec 10th. Anyone over 50 and close to that date? I'm 66.

Haven't got my date yet, but looking for an early year date. I'm definitely in for a buddy I'm 62 and live in Louisiana how do we keep in touch?

I just want to share that I really don't like this pre-op.diet. I have not been ablentonget the 800-1000 calories and 60-70g of Protein a day. I also bought.gummie Fiber pills!!!! That is something new!! 7more days!!!

Wanted to share about a friend I have who iss really worried about me. I don't have a partner or spouse I am alone. I am not alone in support though. I have a special friend who is having a hard time as I am losing weight now and doesn't understand why surgery. Told her I need help to keep it off. She cries, but she tells.people that say surgery is easy that it is not. She gets mad at the idiots. She sees what I am going through! I say kudos and thank you to those who GET IT!!!

This is only my first day! So far I'm not cheating. I'm able to set multiple alarms on my smartphone. So I have a Protein Shake every three hours. I have Clear Liquids in between. I could detail it more, but that might be too boring!

I am on day 7 th day and it gets easier. But fiber fiber and Water water!!! I found a low cal protien drink that I can add a low greek yogart and 1/2 banana and ice it lasts awhile. Are you getting your 800-1000 calories in a day?? I am so looking for tomorrow and a plate of food. Chewing is what I miss most!! Gum helps a bit!!

I'm glad your friend is standing up for you. Please remember you're not alone here or in any other support groups you're in.

I chew on chewable vitamins! I'm getting more than the needed 80+ grams of Protein. It's about 120 - 150 grams per day. But I'm at the low end of the calories. Each Protein Powder scoop has 30 grams of protein, but only 170 calories. I'm losing weight too. I'm going to add vegetable juice (V-8) and Tomato juice. I'm drinking plenty of water and other clear liquids (broths, sugar-free Jello, and sugar-free popsicles), so it's so far so good in that area. If 12/4 is still your surgery date, I'll be thinking about you a lot that day!

It is the 4th!! Are we allowed to have v-8? I have beem using the soy milk for added protein. I am just really hyper vigilant and do things a bit over board at times.

Yes, we can have V-8. Really anything on the "full liquids" list that the surgeon's group gave us. We have to get in the habit of first having our protein though. I mix my powder with water. I suppose I could mix it with skim, 1%, or 2% like that list says. That would also help me get the calories I'm supposed to have. And I'll be praying for you on the 4th! ;-)

I don't know why my last post was made to look like an append to yours. I guess there's still some glitches with this new forum website.

sleep ? What's sleep ? Last night I managed 3 hours which is pretty good for me recently! I just can not relax! I hope once I get the approval I can maybe get some sleep! 3 Luckily I get off at 4 today. Only an hour but hey I will take it! Getting some art supplies to making handprint turkeys with my daughter to give to her grandparents. I think I may actually lay down when she does tonight and MAYBE get some sleep! (if I'm posting at 3 am then obviously my plan failed) haha

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
