Any October surgeries out there...

Recommended Posts

Need help! I have to lose at least 17lbs. In two weeks or I won't be an October surgery any ideas how to take it off fast.

I'm on day 4 of the pre-op diet and I've lost 11 pounds already. My pre-op diet is limited to 20 grams of Protein though. I don't think It's healthy, but It's what my program requires and It's probably okay short-term to get the weight that you need to get off

I am also getting very excited I am one month away as of today. Yesterday was a little stressful my husband and I went out for dinner and a movie. I was getting ready and clothes that fit a few months ago no longer fit. I told my husband that when I gained weight prior to my band the weight came on gradual so even though I was heavy and stressed about it it wasn't as noticeable as it is now. It is so frustrating since I had issues with my band at the beginning of this year and it slipped. my weight has came back on very fast and it is so hard to know that a year ago I was in a size 16 now I am back in a 20/22. I hate the way I feel now and can't wait to start my journey.

Hi all.....wow October is going to be a busy month.

This is a big week for me. I am done with my 6 month pre-op program and all of the tests. So I meet with the Dietitian on Tuesday for her to quiz me on what I have learned and sign me off, then I meet with the surgeon on Friday to sign me off. I think I'm good to go, but until all is said and done I am having huge anxiety!!!! Hopefully I will get my surgery date at that point- still aiming for Oct 21st. Wish me luck. :)

I've gained 8 lbs since 7/12 :o

I think I'm gonna go ahead and buy some Protein Shakes and substitute a couple of meals a day. Get a head start on getting rid of this extra weight. Anyone here choosing to do a pre op diet without MD requirement? If so, what are you doing? Hope everyone's is doing great! We're almost there!!!

I am scheduled for October 1st. I start the Liquid Protein pre-op diet on the 17th of Sept. I am not looking forward to that part of it as I have heard that it is the hardest part. I am excited about the surgery and looking forward to getting healthy.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
