Pre-op challenge #2: Family Birthday Party

Oh my goodness I had no idea it would be this tough! It's my niece's 1st birthday party and I come from a family that is all about food. There is so much yummy stuff here! And I cannot eat a thing. Surgery is in just 1 week and I cannot risk not following the pre-op diet to shrink my liver. I actually had to step away while everyone is eating to take some deep breaths and stay away from temptation, and take a moment to pray.

Wishing the best and lots of strength to my fellow rny friends; I know you all have been here.

Btw, challenge #1 was lunch out with my coworkers. Piece of cake (ha!). This is like running over hot coals lol.

Great job! It's hard. I would separate myself situation when the food came out!! Actually I still doing that. I am still on full liquids but starting to feel hungry again

I know exactly how you feel! My daughters first birthday party was a few weeks ago and I felt horrible watching everyone else eat cake that I paid $100 to have specially made for her. I wasn't on my pre op liquid diet but I still have to loose weight to get my second appointment. I didn't want to risk it by eating a piece. The thing is to step away while everyone else is eating. Get on here . Down load the app on our phone. That's what I did. It helped because I was focused on something other than food. I also downloaded some games . I play candy crush when I'm hungry. Lol I'm focused on trying to pass to the next level.

I'm stuck on level 65!!!

You can do it! It will b so worth it!!!! :)

I'm stuck on level 65!!!

I was stuck on level 65 for a month!! I actually paid $5 for the sprinkle balls to pass it.. Guess you can say I cheated! Lol but that's the only money I ever spent on the game..lbvs good luck!!

I refuse to pay lol

I refuse to pay lol

I refuse to pay lol

I did too at first then I got fed up with level 65 I had too! Lol that's how they make all that money. They won't let you pass a level until you pay for something. Now I'm stuck on level 130. Been there for three weeks. But I'm not paying this time.. Lbvs

I knoiw exactly what you are going through I'm on my second week of the pre-op diet. We celebrated my Moms birthday and with my family its always food and drinks. Needless to say because my diet allows for one meal I saved that for my Mom's house. She actually had prepared items that I could eat since she knows about my surgery next week. I had a small plate and actually got tired of eating so I wrapped the rest of it to carry with me. Granted since I've been drinking these shakes and eating the small meals I don't really require as much food. As for the drinks, everybody is used to me having wine, long island iced tea or a cosmo but I was on Iced Tea flavored Crystal Light so they all kept asking quesitons. I simply said I'm detoxing my body. I refuse to jeopardize my surgery so that was my motivation. All I could think about was my liver shrinking for my upcoming surgery and the 7 pounds I lost last week. I can't wait to see what the scale will say the end of the week. I'm also going to retake my measurements on Saturday or Sunday along with another picture. Good Luck! We can do this!
