I was just thinking how i was before I got sleeved about seeing scales at the Doctors office or Hospital weighing me. I was so shameful to get on one (about as much i hated to have my picture taken.) Even now that I haven't hit my goal weight yet, I'm not shy about stepping on the scale anymore, it's become my friend instead of a embarrassment to me... I got my Christmas present back in June with no regrets at all.. Merry Christmas everyone; I hope you feel as well as i do....peace

I have six pounds to get out of the obese bmi category and into overweight (I am 166 currently). I really want to start the new year with obesity officially behind me. I am pushing hard but not sure I can do it because I am such a slow loser. I am trying tho.

I realized I was overweight this past week. What an accomplishment!

Merry Christmas everyone! I've had a crazy week of shopping, wrapping, cleaning and soon to be cooking!. dinner is at our house with the extended family. Turkey, ham, gravy, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, green bean casserole, cream corn (with cream cheese), rolls and my brother in law is brining 2 of his homemade cheese cakes. I shouldn't have to cook again till Sunday? Then I should be tired of turkey again ….

In the Philadelphia area a Christmas tradition for all of us history geeks is to go to the annual Christmas day reenactment of Washingtons crossing the Delaware River. Since it was 20 balmy degrees here. By the end of the day i was freezing my Hessians off ( Revolutionary war humor :-p )

But since im able to do so much more this year and for the rest of my hopefully very long life, im trying new things even if freezing is part of the deal. So i hope you also had / having a great Christmas.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
