65-70 grams of Protein a day but not taking a separate Biotin. Maybe I should add that. I was hoping I'd skip the hairloss phase.

my team has said the more protien the better. I average 80 to 100 g per day. from my understanding that hair is basically protien the more you feed it the less the hair loss....makes sense.

the biotin. came from a fellow RNY patient who had the surgery 8 months before me and she had had minimal hair issues. so it comes from actual experience. and Cathy has a powerful head of red hair :-) hope this helps.

Hair loss started big time today. Coming out in chunks. :(

Went to my clinic's support group meeting last week. Speaker was sales rep for Bariatric Advantage. He said also Zinc plays a role as well in Hair loss. The have a new multi Vitamin that has been formulated just for RNY patients. New to the market in August. The chewable is coming in November.

Well today was my 3 month follow-up. I'm not doing as well as many/most of you. I am down 46lbs by their scale (48.4 by mine but who's counting?) so I missed the 50 - 60 lb goal so I'm bummed and beating myself up today. I can give a slew of excuses and I know I need to get to exercising more' date=' and drink more fluids.

Dr was not discouraged tried to tell me I've lost 42% of my anticipated loss but I'm still wallowing in self-pity. I feel good, my blood pressure is down, I've thrown out my first pair of fat pants so it's stupid I am crying about 4 lbs but I'm so upset about it. New goal is 30 -40 lbs in the next 90 days.

Thanks for the long whiny post.[/quote']

Girl. I am in the same boat! I go for my 3 month on Tuesday and so far I am down 41lbs. Don't feel bad, that is what I keep telling myself. Eventually I will get to my goal. I already feel a ton better.

Thanks graceann! I decided just to say I was having a weak day and blame the.doldrums on estrogen released from weight loss ( sounds like a good excuse right?) Like you, I'm feeling better and like another forum cheerleader reminded me (baconville) there are more tools to measure success than just a.scale! So let us know how your follow up goes. We're in this together!

What brand of chewable prenatal vitamins? I've been using a sublingual Biotin but its huge and I don't think it's doing much.

I had to break down and buy myself some new panties...the old ones were fitting like bloomers. I feel so sexy in my new smaller panties, even if they are cotton haha...can hardly wait to fit into Victoria's Secret.

PS: also bought myself a bra two sizes smaller (but only lost one cup size)

Preop weight 389 current weight 314...that's 75 lbs lost since RNY 6/11/13

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
