My surgery was on June 20th so I'm in my third week. This week started feeling super fatigued and had constant stomach ache. Even Water wasn't sitting well. My husband helped me figure out that I haven't been getting enough Protein. Started feeling better once I started more protein. My surgeon's instructions for post op meals isn't very specific. So I'll have a million questions for her and the nutritionist. Any suggestions for high protein Breakfast? I've been eating 99% fat free refried beans' date=' Soup, and greek yogurt. Getting sick of that. I'm going back to work this week and tryin

g to figure out what I'll be eating...[/quote']

My 3 favorite breakfasts are Cottage cheese, Greek Yogurt, and egg salad (1 hard boiled egg, with 1 tbsp of mayo & a bit of mustard). I am still on pureed for another week - surgery was 6/25/13. This morning I want to try Cream of Wheat with Protein Powder added, my NUT said this makes it a protein equivalent, and therefore is Ok.

Does anyone use Viactiv calcium chews? My liquid Calcium is so yucky after surgery.

Chew chew chew and don't take both together! I learned the hard way that I could not pop a whole one in in one bite like I could before.

On my way to my very first support group. My dr makes us go to one a month for a year. It's on managing summer activities. Sounds interesting.

Ugh. I keep eating too much and get this awful full feeling. I'm nervous that I'm stretching my pouch. I only had 1.5 ounces of meatballs and I feel like I'm going to bust.

I feel like I am not eating enough. I have had two times of eating too much and throwing up, and I never want to do that again! Of course, I keep reading if we don't get in all of the Protein and the food, then we won't lose weight and may lose our hair. It makes me so nervous! I want to succeed on this new life, but I have failed so many times before.

I said all that to say, I understand. haha. I feel full even when I take one bite. I have been forcing myself to eat a little more the last two days. I only saw a loss of 2 pounds last week. It's frustrating!

I haven't even gotten all my Protein in today. I plan on having my protein Popsicle in a little bit and that will only put me at 41 grams. I haven't lost a lot of weight this week either but I also have my "friend" so I'm thinking that's why. I think I have to start drinking a shake in the morning. Otherwise I don't know how to fit it all in.

I think I got about 30 grams in today. I am really praying that I get better at the protein. I need to add a shake in the morning as well. I am just sick to death of sweet stuff. (never thought those words would come out of my mouth! ) I try to eat the protein, but it feels like it grows in my mouth as I chew.

It's so hard!!!

Greek yogurt, eggs and cheese have been my savior. The shakes are so yuck.

Only way I can handle them is plain greek yogurt, splash of skim milk, handful of fruit and a half scoop of Protein Powder all dumped in the blender.

I don't care for greek yogurt, but I have found if I do it that way in a blender it is tolerable. I made meatloaf the other day and packed it with oatmeal. It was really yummy, but now the leftovers are tasting nasty to me. I can eat eggs, but after a couple of bites and the chewing.... it doesn't taste so good anymore. I have started telling myself that I still have to eat it, but this makes me nervous, because I don't want to throw up.

I guess we just keep moving forward at our own paces each day. i just don't want to mess up things this time around like I have on every diet I have ever been on

Okay... enough whining! Thanks for listening.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
