I thought I would share how I made my oatmeal this morning. I used a half of a Vanilla Protein Shake instead of milk and then added some cinnamon. It is pretty tasty. I still don't think I will be able to finish all of it, but for today.... it tastes good!

I am with all of you! Getting enough Protein seems impossible. I tried today to really get my minimum of 70g and I felt full and sick all day. I feel like to get enough protein I have to constantly eat something or drink a shake and that makes me feel awful! And these shakes are really starting to bother me. Tomorrow I am going to do some experimenting to find a decent shake combo.

P.S I didn't make it to my minimum! Ugh!!!

All week I have only gotten 30g they tell me women should shoot for 60g but I feel like its impossible. They also told me to try increasing it slowly like add 5g extra each day but that it will take a few weeks to comfortably eat 60g of protein.

I understand. I have big hopes each morning, and then I can only eat a 1/4 of a serving of my oatmeal. It is really frustrating.

I can now see how some people become anorexic after this surgery

I was thinking the same thing Michelle

I'm the same way with oatmeal. Freaks me out how much of some things I can eat tho. I can do a Protein smoothie or a container of yogurt no problem. My NUT said its because they're a semi liquid and kind of just go right thru. Still weirds me out.

I understand so far today I have ate a bite of oatmeal and some chicken broth. Trying to eat high Protein foods but I can only eat a few bites so I only get 1g of Protein in and the shakes I can barely get one sip before it fills me up

I found some cheez its in my cabinet. They have 3 grams of protein for 14. I ate them with some laughing cow cheese spread on them. I am happy to be at about 15 grams of protein today. :)

I've been having a very hard time getting in 64 oz of Fluid & all my Protein. For the past 3 days I take one New Whey protein liquid "shot". I hate drinking it but its 42g of protein & only 3.8 oz to drink.

That's awesome! I'm at about 10. I'm still in purée and not aloud anything crunch, or cheese but once I am I might try this!

That's awesome! I'm going to have to pay almost $4000. Couldn't have done it without my dad's financial help! But it is all worth it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
