I've been waking up so hungry the last couple days. I'm 8 days post-op. Anybody else have thus happen?

Are you having some thing close to your bed time? it dose not have to be alot of food , preferably high protien . since your asleep for eight hours you need something light to get you throught the night . ( my personal opinion ) If it persists check with your surgeon

I'm definitely feeling something like hunger. My tummy growls a little even. It's more like an empty feeling. Anyone else?

I did a little reading about this topic this morning and found several things that talked about drinking and eating too close together. I am going to pay close attention to that and see if anything changes.

I had mine June 17th. I had a complication yesterday. The Jp drain hit a nerve and I could not breathe. The ER ruled out major things like blood clots and blockages' date=' gave me more pain meds and sent me on my way. My drain was scheduled to come out this Wednesday, but my Dr. called this morning and said come on in we are taking it out. I feel like a new woman. I also get to start soft/select food. Yippee!

Will you have to pack your drainage area where the jp tube was removed?

My RNY was 6/18/13, here in the Indianapolis area. Things have gone much better than expected. I don't think my pain level ever got over a 3-4. My abdomen is still tender and moving around still hurts, but it's improving. My surgeon also took out my gallbladder and repaired a hernia, so I'm not sure how that may have affected me. I did gain about 10 lbs. in IV fluids and that seems to be coming off. Getting the required fluids and Protein is a challenge, but I'm doing reasonably well. Get to start puréed foods today!! I cheated a little and had a scrambled egg for dinner last night. It's on my puréed list, so it was only 12 hours early! It went down without problem. Hope to try cottage cheese today. I'm so excited to see where this journey takes me.

AshleyMichelle,

FYI. I have found that vanilla protien powder, CVS sugarfee orange flavored Fiber and a handful of frozen rasberries or blue berries. shredded and mixed in a blender is a flavorful drink. it has everything!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
