I had my rny on August 8th, 2012... Starting weight 271, current weight, 178... I've been at a standstill since about March... I try so hard to get to my goal weight of 160, and I can't get below 178!! It's really frustrating. I know I have come along way, a really long way, but i still struggle with my appearance, when I look in the mirror, I still feel "fat" I don't feel like I'm any smaller. I know I am, but my brain doesn't recognize it, and I'm hard on myself. I went from a 22 pant, to size 11 and 2x shirt to a large. It feels fantastic! I just hope that I can continue to push forward and lose these last few pounds!

First off i just have to say that YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Congratulations on your success, you look great!! Hang in there, you'll reach your goal weight... But I know how you feel I've been stuck at 184 for over a month now & it IS very frustrating!! I just need to remember that at least I'm not gaining any weight. Because before the surgery I would have gotten so frustrated & would have given up by now & gained a bunch back. So I know it's hard but we need to be proud of ourselves for how far we've come and how strong we are now to keep going & not give up.

Don't get discouraged. You look fantastic! My surgery was August 30th and I spent most of March and April in a stall. I lost 6 pounds over 3 months. Suddenly it started moving again a couple of weeks ago. I increased my walking and it helped.

Oh, and I totally understand still feeling fat. When I look in the mirror, I don't see a change. It's only when I catch my reflection in a subway or shop window that it hits me that I've lost over 100 pounds. I think part of it is that the face I expected to see after the weight came off isn't there. I'm 15 years older and the face in the mirror is a stranger. It's do strange.

First off you look amazing!

We are the same I'm also 10 months and have been stuck since march. I still feel fat and see the same ol me. I just started Zumba in and back to Protein shakes.

I have been stuck at 240 forever! Starting was 389. My goal is 190 so I have 50 more lbs and I want to do it by 16 months.... So I'm giving myself 6 months.

Message me we can do this! I'm here for ya. Lets push through and get to our goal. I can't say our brain will catch up but we can do it!!!!

I used to do side by side and stopped that too when I just gave up and didn't see what everyone else saw in me. I needed to reevaluate the situation and push through I've been in Zumba 4 times a week and cardio and toning 2. And up up up the Protein.

And Water.... Boo lol I'm not a Water fan

Surgery date 7/25/12

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
