Had mine last tues.... I know how you feel! They wheeled me into operating room and I had to scooch from one bed to the op table, and as I lay there watching everyone and seeing these machines... I told nurse you better knock me out soon cause I'm starting to freak out! Lol

One of my friends asked why I didn't just do diet and exercise instead of have the surgery.

I. Hate. People.

If she had to ask that question, she's really not your friend, your friends would know your history with trying to lose and be health. They would already know you've tried everything.

So today I told my grandmother & best friend I was having surgery (my family & friends don't know)...my best friend was supportive & asked questions but thought it was great...my grandmother on the other hand was very upset with me. While I know she's worried (especially since all my family is in another state) I was a little saddened by how upset she was...she was disappointed even. IDK it doesn't change my resolve & knowing I'm doing what's right for me...I guess I just hoped for a different response

I had my first real food today! A scrambled egg with laughing cow cheese. It was delicious! I was so disappointed that I could only hold down half of it.

Thank you. Yea, I thought my surgeon told me it was about a hour and a half, then when the hospital called, they said about 5 hours and then 2-3 in recovery. I was like WOW! What the heck is he doing in there, lol! Thanks for the info and the well wishes!!

Goo luck to everyone having surgery this week. I had my pre op admission today and weighed in at 398. So that is a total of 13 pounds so far. Surgery is Thursday!!! I'm so excited yet nervous. I need to get laundry done, clean the house, and pack a hospital bag!!

Oh hon I am sorry. I can totally relate. I didn't tell my mom until the month before and she spent the entire month trying to talk me out of it. I am sure your grandmother adores you and worries. There is so much ignorance about the surgery too. I know my mom thought right up until two days before that it was open not laproscopic. Try and educate your grandmother and I am sure she'll cone around. Praying for you!!

I'm starting to get really nervous. I've been on the liver shrink for for a month now and I only lost 13 pounds... Will this be enough, will my surgery be canceled... Ugh I wish I knew what my liver was so I would stop stressing. Seriously telling the surgeon that if the lovers to big to just open me up. I only get one shot and I'm terrified my liver hasn't shrunk.

Oh sweetie don't worry you will be fine. I did the liquid diet for thirty days preop and "only" lost 9 lbs and my surgery went great. Your liver will be beautiful! :)

Stay positive and focus on the fact you are 13 lbs down. Go pick up 13 lbs and recognize how much that is. You've got this and will be a success!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
