Awww' date=' try it again in a few weeks, it'll treat your stomach better, I believe that. How did it make you feel? Im on liquid, I'm scared to start the Protein shakes...but I'm going to follow the directions, hope you feel better.[/quote']

Hey... It tastes amazing!! Haha but a few hours later and even right now I am nauseated. It has definitely started to ease up, but its still there. Just annoying. Unfortunately, I know for a fact that I've barely had any fluids today, let alone, what my daily requirement is. I'm just going to keep sipping till bedtime then start new tomorrow.

Had surgery on Tuesday. I came home today feeling pretty good. Allowed to have full liquids however Protein Shake felt a little heavy. I've been working on Water most of the day. Crystal light isn't doing the trick. It's either too sweet or sour. Gas is not unbearable but a little uncomfortable. Hope everyone is recovering well and best of luck to those waiting for their surgery!

My surgery is June 26th and I'm on day 2 of the pre op diet. I'm so nervous and excited that I can barely drink the Protein Shakes.< /div>

I am the 25th and am on day three. Just had all my pre-surgery classes at the hospital today. SO much information! I am excited and nervous too!

Hi all! I have 3 days 15 hours and 55 minutes until my surgery!.....but whose counting? It sounds like everyone is recovering well....slow but well from surgery. I can't wait to be on the loosers bench with everyone. Question: Does everyone have a drainage tube when they leave the hospital or do they take it out there???

I had one in for a week and just got it pulled today. I was SO scared that it would be painful. Actually, I didn't even feel it once the whole time it was in and didn't realize when the nurse had pulled it out that it was done. Lol all in all, not a bad experience. The worst part was trying to shower with it. I figured out that if I pinned it on the shower curtain, it was a piece of cake. Haha

I didn't have one. My surgeon said he rarely places them unless the patient is "different inside" lol

I'm not sure if this is the place to join, but I just found this forum today and what awesome information I've found! It has also been great to see that everyone so far has had pretty good experiences. I am having surgery on 6/19 (revision from lap band). I am 30 years old, mother to two little ones and I'm super nervous, but feel peace about my decision. I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
