Magnesium Citrate - my daring experiment (details)

**sorry ahead of time for any crudeness**

My surgery is in 6 days (April 17).

So 2 days ago I decided to go to Walmart to look at the Magnesium Citrate. Paid $1.29 each bottle. Got Lemon & Grape. These are the Equate brand, clear bottles/clear liquid, 10 ounze each. Got home and put them in fridge.

I had my day free today so first I went to JCP and tortured myself with clothes. Left with an $8.00 sale shirt that is lightweight with "bat wing" sleeves. Then I went home and tortured myself with a magnesium citrate experiment.

So here is my experience:

I set a timer too

Opened lemon bottle. Had NO smell. Has a little carbination. Reminded me of seltzer (not as carbonated). Looks like clear Water.

Took out my water bottle.

Held nose and proceeded to down bottle. Stopped 1/2 way to breath, chased with ice cold water (before opening nose), wiped mouth so as not to have any taste. Could taste the residue - NOT BAD. Far easier than Barium or Pepto!! NOT BAD AT ALL. I dont understand why so many people have written how horrible it was.

Continued to finish bottle with nose close, chasing with ice water.

The dilemma really was that I dont have an appetite lately nor can I fully consume 10oz of liquid (probably 14 if this instance because of the ice water chasers). So getting it all down in a few mins was the hard part.

START TIMER>>>>>>>

One full hour later, still nothing. No gas, no gurgling belly NADA. OK a little burping, but nothing out of the ordinary after a large glass of water. Thought I was crazy and this stuff wasn't working.

1 hour 5 mins, felt normal sensation to poop. Went to bathroom. POOPED NORMALLY. Naturally my poop was black from the high protien. No more poop than normal.

AND THAT WAS IT. It's now been a full THREE HOURS since I drank it......

And I think that is all folks!!!

(so some info: I am doing the liver reduction diet day 8 and I have not cheated really. My diet includes mostly high protien, fluids, and 2 food items from "the list" - so I can have 2oz of lean meat each day. I have done 4 oz on the days I have "slipped") So I guess there isn't anything further in me.

CAN IT BE THIS EASY WITH MAGNESIUM CITRATE???? Did I miss something??? Doesn't seem right. :D

Well I wonder if that is going to happen to me. I think I am going to eat a little bit of a SF pudding and see if that does anything. This is far too good to be true. :(

**Update**

nearly 8 hours later....

So I decided to go eat some dinner.... as soon as I smelled the meat cooking, I had to go potty. All liquid....but not bad at all.... I still wonder if there's something wrong with me that I am not even a fraction as bad off as most have posted.

Maybe you just didn't have that much in you since you've been on the reduction diet!!!
