Hi everyone! I had my surgery on 4/15 & just waiting for my family to come get me. Day 1 was hard - some pain, hard to move & breathe without pain. I couldn't get up to walk because I was so dizzy & nauseous. Day 2 big improvement. Still some pain but not too bad. Day 3- started running a fever got up to 100.4. The hospital wasn't going to release me unless my temp came down. It's still up a little but I made sure it was low enough to let me leave. The only pain I have is when I try to roll over or bend down. So far it's not so bad today. I hope everyone is doing well!!

Mines is April 18th (tomorrow)! Anyone else in the same boat? What are you guys packing with you in preparation? Also what do you have ready for your liquid diets? I have a few things but its very limited to just broth, Jello, etc and of course my Vitamins but any other ideas would be appreciated!

Reading all your updates ......

So my experience has been great! Then again, my surgery was only 13 hrs ago

As I've mentioned, I have dreadful anesthesia issues. This time wasn't horrible but not perfect. I was nauseous the entire time after surgery & was given a lot of meds. The scratch down my throat is 10x worse than my surgery lol

I actually began sipping Water pretty quickly just to ease my throat.

Then there was the awful pain on my shoulders. Felt like a horse kicked me.

So I was peeing & I noticed blood on my gown. Took me 2 hrs to figure it out; I had some drainage from an incision. Thing is, I have NO pain from surgery & forgot I had incisions!!!

No problems really. I HATE the nebulizer in my nose though.

How is everyone doing? Made it through the first 4 days, but still healing. I can say the left side cut hurts pretty bad still, and it is right where my pants hit. Ugh! It feels okay to walk around as long as I am holding my left side. I wish I had a wrap around thing that would make me not have to hold my tummy. Anyone else having that problem?

Not feeling nauseous or anything just really hurting on the left. I did notice that I might have eaten too much when I was eating some cream of chicken Soup earlier. Got an uncomfortable feeling in my chest and upper abdomen but not until 10 minutes later. I was really scared of dumping too but I didn't, thank God!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
