How about some NSVs!?!?

Recommended Posts

I stood and walked for three and half hours straight last week without sitting once. The old me would have needed to sit down within ten minutes. I have much more energy and stamina as of late. I am nearly seven moths post op.

Oh, I also went from a size 26 to a size 20. I am getting there slowly but surely.

One month after surgery, I am officially off my insulin. I've been insulin-dependent for about five years. Happy day. [emoji4]

OMG I'm so happy for you!!! I can't wait! I just started insulin 2 months ago and it's driving me bonkers!

Will be so worth it! Hang in there. I was bummed, because so many get off it before leaving the hospital. It took me an extra couple weeks, but I got there. :)

I have been out of work 2 weeks (tomorrow is my 2 week surgery anniversary) I tried on my work pants (khakis) and they are swimming on me! 28.8 lbs down.

the only thing that keep my mind off eating was doing other things i love i love movies so i seen every movie you can think of. and with my liquid diet i did do a lot of broth base Soups Panara was my friend.

Thank god for movies!! I’ve maxed out Netflix and now on to Amazon prime and soon Hulu. I have surgery tomorrow. Even this one day fast has made me so emotional. Wish me luck.

I hope your surgery went well @SGirl35. MY NSV is being able to cut my toe nails with out pain.

P. S. what does NSV actually stand for?

Hi there! My surgery went great! I’m down 26lbs my third week post op. I still do feel sick at times and am learning how to eat and drink slowly. I can’t keep too much down though. My NSV would be ; no more back pain, and I can’t leave out that my feet don’t hurt anymore! I had the worst throbbing foot pain in both my feet and now I can walk and run errands without being miserable.
Congrats on your toe nail victory. I hadn’t tried! I just leaned over and saw that Wow I can! However it does hurt my tummy to do much since my incisions are still healing.

Today I realized I haven’t even thought about my knees in a couple of days. They don’t hurt anymore.[emoji171][emoji173]️[emoji172][emoji170]

I was sitting on a chair and i bent my knees and put my feet on the chair too. I wrapped my arms around my legs and interlocked my fingers. Wat a feeling

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
