I'm 4 weeks out and haven't lost for 10 days. I'm getting my Protein in and 700 cals a day and not losing. It's scaring me.

Thanks so much for everyone's comments on here! They are making me feel better.

Bump up your calories to 800-1000, see I that helps! I wasn't getting 800/day and that was my problem. Your body goes into starvation mode an starts taking from your muscle. So try that and see if it works! I lost another 4.5 pounds in a few days by doing that.

Thank you. I will try that. If I can eat that much. I think I can do 8 but not 1000.

Hey guys! :)

Don't compare yourself to other 'loser's'. We will all lose at different paces. I am about 4 1/2 months out and stalled yet again. Oh, and I GAIN! I have a 3 pound gain right now. I only lose about 10 per month after the first month or so. Yes I am a turtle. Yes I am frustrated. Yes I am silently panicking inside but I know it will come off. Well, it least it better!

Just keep doing what you are doing. I know I need more exercise right now. I had work travel last week and it threw me way off but back on the horse. Hang in there!!!

You newbies need to realize that your body is hanging onto every fat cell. Your body is in shock. You just continue following your nutritionist's guidelines and eventually your body will give up and the weight will drop. Do not let the scale get the best of you. It will drive you nuts. :) your all doing awesome. Hang in there.

I did the exact same things at 2 weeks. I stalled for 5 weeks. I was so frustrated and ready to scream. I had only lost 16lbs. I have now lost 12lbs in the last 2weeks. So now I am down 28lbs from my surgery weight. Just be patient and keep doing what you are suppose too. Eventually You will start losing again. Good Luck.

How long should a stall be, I've been stuck in one for 7 days now at only one month out from surgery. I am getting all of my Protein in now thanks to Protein 100, still struggling with my liquids only getting 40 ozs a day

Stalls are all different and it all depends on your body. Not every stall you have will be the same. They can last to a few days to weeks. Be patient even though its hard, keep doing exactly what your nut and doctors say and when your body is ready, you will start to lose weight again.

I'm about 4 weeks out. I lost the first week like crazy... Then stalled after the second for about 2 weeks. It wasn't truley a stall because I still dropped 3 to 4 clothe sizes but my scale didn't move .

I was so frustrated going thru the surgery and I wasn't experiencing this awesome weight loss like the other folks I read about on here.

Now at almost 3.5 to 4 weeks the lbs just started melting away. Literally like 2 lbs a day. Now I'm getting nervous cause I didn't want to lose that quick. LOL

I'm a lot like u girl. I'm 7 weeks out Wednesday. I lost 24 lbs the first 2 weeks and only about 5 in the last 7. It's extremely frustrating.

How many cals a day can u eat?

I can eat 1200 and b perfectly happy.

Friday I will be 8 weeks out and I've only lost 25 pounds and I am really trying to follow everything to the tee. And I want to hurt the stupid scale. I am never hungry or thirsty and force myself to eat and drink. Just so I wouldn't stall and what do I go and do.

I'm the same way. I've been doing everything that I've been told and only 32 in 8 weeks.... I have to force myself to drink and eat also. I feel I've lost inches but I wanna loose more weight.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
