I am on day two of my clear liquid diet. I am so happy I only have to do this for three days, I have no idea how you all do it for longer! I am starving!! I went to the hospital and did my pre-admission paperwork and met with the anesthesiologist. Wednesday is almost here!

Thanks. My surgeon kept apologizing and I told him I was glad they were being thorough' date=' I would rather wait a little longer then end up more sick. I guess I was all pumped up and ready to go. I could have ended up with kidney failure so a few more weeks are okay. I have my appointment with the nephrologist on May 28th, I will keep you posted.[/quote']

Yes, please do keep me informed. Good luck hun. :-)

So today is the first day of my presurgery diet. I had previously tasted my shake using a standard Protein shaker and it tasted horrible and thought oh well it is only for two weeks which is nothing compared to the rest of your life. After reading some posts i thought i would try it it in a blender with ice and Water. So i just made a coffee shake on ice and water then blended and oh my gosh i just had the nicest frappacino ever! tomorrow i am going to add a couple of drops of hazelnut essence and have a hazelnut frappacino yummmmmm :) (the essences are usualy found in your baking isle of the supermarket)

My surgery date is may 29. Very nervous since I only lost a pound pre-op. my doctor threatened to cancel my surgery if I don't lose more weight. So might get there and come back home. That would be very disappointing. Anyone else have similar problems?

So, I had my follow up with my surgeon today. 11 days post op. She moved me to pureed foods today a few days early. Yay! Finally! Lol She said I was doing great and couldn't be more excited for me and I'm off to a wonderful start. My incisions are all almost completely healed. My first meal tonight was refried Beans. I think I got down maybe 1oz. I feel full, which I never had the full sensation with the cream Soups. I think it went really well. I definitely know what everyone was talking about when your stomach gets loud and rumbly after eating! Lol I feel like it's talking to me. Thanking me for the food. Haha

Surgery Date: May 2, 2013 - Amount Lost: 26lbs

That like an enema thing?

It's something you drink that cleans you out fairly quickly. I bought mine already (magnesium citrate? Something like that). I have to drink the bottle 6-7pm the night before. The nurse said to stake out a bathroom and stay near it. Also, inform family members that it is yours for the evening, they better stay out of your way! Lol

Found out today I have to have a endoscopy tomorrow. Seems when I had the barium series done in January the radiologist recommended an endoscopy to rule out a possible ulcer- but no one in my doctor's office read that in my file until today?? Thing is, I have no symptoms of an ulcer. And really... someone should have noted the recommendation and told me the procedure needed to be done months ago. The nurse told me that maybe it was a shadow- since I have no symptoms, but they will not operate if I have an ulcer. The nurse told me that if they find an ulcer, there is still time to take antibiotics to clear it up before the surgery on the 24th. Just so worrisome and frustrating! Especially since just two hours before the news I needed to be scoped, I was told my pre-op testing came back normal and I thought it was smooth sailing... I hope its ok......

Please accept my deepest respect to those that had to do the pre-op liquid diets.....I only had to do today and I am having issues. I had the ICV filter put in today and it was no joke....I am sore and it was scary......tomorrow is the big day....I am scared out of my mind. I am a prayerful woman and will continue to be so. See you on the other side ladies......

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
