I don't yet but I want to. I was going to talk with my nutritionist and research juicing with bariatric surgery before I start.

I juice every day. I use all organic veggies and fruit-- one apple, two celery stalks, one carrot, two or three strawberries, chunk of lemon, handful of lettuce. Makes 6-7 ounces and has about 60 calories and tons of Vitamins. I use an old acme juicer that lets some pulp in. I used to be constipated, but that is no longer an issue.

I am almost 6 weeks out and down 38 lbs. my nut is very pleased with my results and with the juicing.

I have just started juicing but I am worried about the cals/sugar. I have a centrifugal juicer, no pulp..

I think to myself, why dont I just eat those veggies, then I wouldnt be hungry, and same amount of Vitamins with the fibre as well..

I think it's a gimmick at the moment.

Its no gimmick. We invested in a VitaMix-expensive but so worth it, i swear that thing could grind up gravel. My hubby likes the veggie based juices, tomatoes, celery, spinach, apple, lemon, even a little jalapeno, and other assorted things just depending on what we have around. If you think that after bypass you could possibly eat all those veggies,it would take all day! With the VitaMix,all the Fiber stays, you dont even have to peel anything. I wasnt as sold on it as he was,so every morning he makes his own and just gives me a small glass-and just like the post before-no more constipation! I know we have to be so concerned with getting our Protein in, and juicing is a great way to still get the fruit, veggies, and fiber.

My nut is great with the juicing and feels it's a great way to get Vitamins and Fluid and it keeps me regular!!

I would love to start juicing! I feel like a need recipes though.

Here's my favorite: one large or two carrots, two stalks of celery, one apple, one quarter lemon, three or four strawberries. It makes 8-10 ounces and has about 100 calories for the whole thing. I drink it once a day and get more than 100 percent of vit a and c. And it's super yummy!

I have an ancient Acme juicer. I think there are some good ones at any big store.

And it's not too much sugar with the apples and strawberries?

And it's not too much sugar with the apples and strawberries?

According to my nut, no. For 6 ounces it has about 9 grams of sugar. You could add more greens or broccoli to reduce sugar. It is loaded with easily digestible Vitamins.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
