April Dates

Recommended Posts

I got Pre-registered at the hospital today and paid my $1,200 co-pay (ouch!) they said everything is a go for April 8th. I managed to start back on my exercise routine today too....I had been slacking. The Celebrate Vitamins I ordered came today. I got the chewable multi, Calcium, and Iron. I already have some sub-lingual b-12 from my PCP. I also got my tubs of Syntrax Nectar Protein Powder for the 2-week clear liquid stage post-op--fuzzy navel and Twisted cherry flavors. getting everything ready makes me less anxious.

OUCH is right!! I dont have to pay anything up front, just set up a payment plan. At least this is what the nurse told me, I guess I better make sure at my appt on the 27th. ^_^ It does feel good to be getting ready huh? I only need a food scale, (do I REALLY need?), and some new flip flops for the hospital! (i hate slippers)

Hi! I am Amber, I am 27, and this is my first post here. I will be having surgery in April, and will find out the exact date this week. I am going through a military hospital and had several requirements to take care of before my final appt. 3psych visits, 4 nutrition visits, visits to a wellness center, and with the surgeon. Started the process on Jan. 23rd, so it hasn't taken all that long. Was able to forgo the 6-month diet since it is being done on post. I am so excited! This can't happen soon enough. I have chosen to not tell people about the surgery(other than my husband and mom). I am the "fat" one in a family of skinnies, lol, not looking to be judged or be called lazy. Pre-op diet is is 2 weeks of calorie restricted food consumption, then the typical post-op diet. I'm not going to lie, I just really want to be "skinny", tired of being the chunky mom at my daughters school. I have no co-morbidities, and technically no longer qualify for the surgery since I have lost a bit of weight, luckily the go by my initial weigh-in which put me at 40.1 bmi. I wasn't overweight until I got married. Wow, this seems more like a biography, lol. Well, here's to looking better and feeling better about ourselves!

Welcome! I completely understand where your coming from. I too haven't told that many ppl I am having it done. Basically my mom and kids and a few close friends. Not cuz I'm ashamed but because I feel its my decision and no one elses business lol I wish you well and good luck!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
