My latest pet peeve? The guy at work who speaks authoritatively about WLS.

Yesterday: Him: How's it going?

Me: I explain.

Him: Oh, I see. Well, enjoy this phase. The first six months are the honeymoon period. After that it becomes a struggle, and I just hope you don't become one of the ones who have the weight come back after a year...

Me: Did you have the surgery?

Him: Who me? No, no! I never could! I love to eat too much!

Me: Grrrrrrrr!

The question that is kinda driving me crazy now a days: So how much have you lost? Every week! I get this from fellow co-workers. I know they mean well , but I didn't report how much I gained every week before surgery.. Lol . Plus as we all know there are weeks we don't lose. I just wish ppl would wait for ME to talk about my WLS . Oh and every single night I work: how are you feeling? I can't answer that . It ALWAYS depends. Day,time,my pouch. You guys know what I mean. I just want to be left alone some times . I am at work to work :) I just feel like a science project some times and it gets to me that's all. Rant end. :)

I soooooo hear ya! There is one secretary here who, for lack of a better word, is a nosey-parker and a gossip. Today she asked me if I rode my bike in to work again. Me: yes. Her: And how did that go for you? Me: Fine! Her: Did you take a longer route? Me: Nope, just the usual one. Her: And how was your ride home last night? Me: Fine. Gorgeous weather... and on, and on, and on... WHY must she interrogate me like this ALL. THE. TIME?!

It's noseyness under the guise of concern and casual conversation, but it is nevertheless intrusive and IRRRRRRitating! LOL!

I know, I know, I'm probably overreacting, but I know you all understand. Sometimes you just want to be left alone!

WHAT?!?!? OMG they are insane, I just had my my check up Wed and my surgery was Feb 6th I was told I am doing GREAT 232 to 198 that is 45% weight loss looking for 75% from my strict surgeon. Strict meaning only Protein until 75% weight loss has been completed. Stop listening to those people .....IMHO (in my humble opinion)

Danifoxpt and Cecilia RN,

At the risk of sounding like a smart alec, I might respond to the " how much have you lost this week " question by saying, "I'll tell you, if you tell me". That might shut em up!

As for the secretary who wants to know about riding your bike to work...a rather to the point reply would be, " why do you care about my transportatio? Are you looking to buy a bike and that's why you want to know about mine?" Or even better..."would you like to start meeting me for a bike ride? We could ride to work together! It would help with thoseounds you've gained recently"'. That should shut her up, and fast. A little bitchy I know, but it seems to me that most people just say what they think without one thought to everybody else. You might give it a try.

You are ten pounds ahead of me, girl! Don't let the turkeys get you down. You are losing at EXACTLY the rate that is right for your body!

I like it! "It was a great ride, why, are you planning on starting to bike to work too?" or "It was great! You should get out your bike and do some riding when you get home tonight, then you can share with me tomorrow!"

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
