I have Lymphedema and my therapist said its important to wear compression garments it will help shrink and mold or fat I have had my legs wrapped and lost 30% in them it helps to lose Fluid in them. I wear underarmor compression long sleeve shirts to help my batwings it really makes a difference. My therapist is the one who told me about my Surgeon because she had started working with him to help his patience with swelling and skin issues

At MD office for what was suppose to be my one month check up post OP turned out to be 2.5 month due to scheduling issues (I am 100 miles from office). I am at 45% weight loss and need to be 75% to have veggies and fruit added in daily. Different requirements different surgeons.. They tell me I'm ahead of the game right now. The only thing is there scale and mine don't jive! I weigh naked in the am once a week. They weight me clothes on in the afternoon. Two pound difference, the good thing is my scale is most accurate from what they tell me.. :-)

I will take what I git.....he he he

I'm happy healthy and feel GRrrreat.

I learned that band to bypass patients get spasms when drinking liquids especially Water so don't trip out you newbies it's normal especially for us....the feeling is odd you will know.

Now to find out why my gallbladder was not removed when the surgeon was adamant about taking it out so I wouldn't have troubles later??? More to follow.

Anyone else find comfort in their big baggy clothing. My surgeon encouraged me last week to go buy new scrubs for work cause my pre ops one's are getting pretty baggy. So i took the advice, but I thought maybe the new clothes were causing my bad mood maybeso cause i went back to the old baggy scrubs today and felt so comfy.

So I have the loosest jiggliest fat in the world....I guess I'm at that awkward phase where I'm still really fat so there's tons of it and its got lots of room to jiggle around in....shorts are not my friend.

When the crotch started hanging I had to get some replacement pants.

My comfort was to know I would NEVER see that size again :-)

My old firm fat was vet different from my super giggle loose fat now. I'm guessing it's because it's not as dense????

True confession time:

I actually *gained* two pounds back. Or that's what the scale says. I'm probably just retaining Water because I've been cheating with salty Snacks and not getting enough to drink to flush it through.

So anyway' date=' I had a heart-to-heart with myself today. "Self," I asked myself, "what gives with all the crazy wrong eating? The bag of jaw breakers you bought the other day, the popcorn and chips at work, the TWO Cookies? ! What--are you *trying* not to lose weight?!"

... and the answer came to me crystal clear. "Of course."

I think something snapped when everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY from the hair dresser to the check-out lady at the grocery store, to the housekeeping staff at work comments on my weight loss. No matter how nice or supportive it is, it's flipping overwhelming. Then there's the trip to the Cities last weekend (that's Minneapolis/St Paul for you non-midwesterners) and hitting four consignment/Savers type stores and loading up on clothes, some of which already feel loose (yes, even with the 2-lb weight gain). And finally, I'm sure taking all my "fat clothes" to a resale shop here was the last straw. I'm "shrinking" as one coworker put it, and I just want it to stop for a while. I want to catch my breath and get used to being this size before I get smaller.

I look at my poor daughter, 15, who weighs what I did a year ago, and it's shocking. Was I *really* that big? I was! And now I'm tiny compared to her, and I could shop from the regular women's sizes at the store, and I ran two miles with no pain or shortness of breath, and the whole thing is just a little bit too much.

This realization has put me back on track somewhat. I've bought my own high-protein snacks for work so I'm not tempted by the starches (which, BTW, make me nauseously gassy) and I'm indulging in canned fruit when I want to get my fill of sweets, but I need support. I need you all to reassure me that we will get through this together, because going from a size 22 to fitting --tight, but zipping up!-- into a pair of Misses size 16 pants in just two months is making me a little crazy.

Love you all, and hope to hear from you. If you're experiencing anything like this, please share![/quote']

I'm right there with you girl. The overwhelming part of it all is probably why I can stand to be around myself or others. Everyone assures me that it will get better. All I say is I hope so. You are doing fabulous! Keep your head up. Hugs!! And thank you for sharing

Good God! I read your comments right after SoccerMomma's comments about loose skin, and I thought your *actual crotch* was bagging! LOL!

I caved and bought new pants when our unit secretary said I looked like a little kid with a poo in his diaper. Charming.

That's my stomach, my butt, and my upper arms. I spend a lot of time poking it and wiggling it. It's so weird. Reminds me of a birthday balloon you find behind the couch three days later. Wrinkly and soft. LOL!

It's good to massage or saggy fat it helps to break it down and release Fluid fro it and to keep it soft and stimulated

I do NOT want to stimulate my saggy fat....it might reproduce if it gets stimulated!!!!

I have heard of special massages that promote the flow of lymphatic Fluid back into the circulation system. And anywhere you promote circulation is a good thing!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
