I had surgery on Feb 1, starting weight 241 and am now at 211. I am happy with my 30lbs gone forever! This weekend I had someone say to me "you should have lost at least double that by now". I brushed it off at the time, but then felt so discouraged. I felt like awful! I know that I am getting in at least 60g of Protein a day, and walking at least 10,000 steps a day with strength training as well. I woke up this morning and realized after reading the forums here that everyone loses at a different pace. I don't have lots of extra skin (right now) and have lost many inches so I think I am going to just feel good about the 30 lbs and not worry about what others think.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Definitely do not worry about what others think or about "competing" with others. All our bodies are different. My doc says slower is better... it gives your skin a chance to keep up with your changing shape, LOL! Congratulations on your exercise as well. I have an easy time running in the summer, but it's going to be a challenge for me to keep exercising in the fall/winter.

Ok February's....who's on MFP? I thought it might help for is to see what everyone else is eating at the same stage out that we are. My username is Kellyk2511

Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

My username name is pearliture on MFP. Anyone else feel free to friend me. I had my surgery on February 20, 2013. Currently, trying to work through mushy stage of eating. Have had a lot of frustrating moments with the different food stages. My surgeon says my pouch is super picky but if in 2 weeks I am still struggling he is going to do tests to see if I possibly have a stricture. He is hesitating with doing unnecessary tests because I just feel sick and pressure with anything other than liquid and I don't throw up. So we'll see. I currently only consume 1 oz at each meal.

You found me on MFP before I found you! :D. Welcome! And pay no attention to what I eat on Sundays.....I've discovered I notoriously don't come anywhere close to meeting my goals on Sundays. Always running.

Anyone else feel nauseous every time they eat or drink? I had a scope done a few weeks ago because of it (thought it was a stricture) and found out its an ulcer. I'm on protonix and carafate 4x a day, and I feel like for every 1 or 2 days of feeling good, I feel crappy for 3. Even Water makes me nauseous.

Today I wore the same outfit to church as I did last Easter. The minute my Mom saw me she said, I can't believe how much different you look. (In a really good way...lol) I don't see it as much, but I could feel how much different the skirt fit. Some of my favorite clothes that just didn't fit well, are fitting better. That makes me feel really hopeful.

Just thought I would share because I know many of you understand.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
