Fabulous February Post-Op's

Recommended Posts

I am 2 weeks post op today. I am feeling better everyday. I still have some muscle/incision pain around my left rib. At times' date=' it makes it difficult to get out of bed. I am on pureed food and am doing well on getting all my Protein in. I return to work on Monday so my schedule will change. I find it difficult to get all of my Water and protein both in. Feels like I am constantly putting something in my mouth. Timing my Vitamins to keep my Iron away from my Calcium is also a challenge![/quote']

Me too it took me up to three weeks to be able to walk standing straight up! Now I'm exhausted because all the pain I had and stress I didn't sleep well mostly in a recliner. I have difficulty getting all my protein and water in also due to all the do and don't

I learned to take my calcium chew in the am and my vitamins with iron in the pm. Are you tired?

Ugh. I took melt aways and got the sugar overdose. Sweats. Sick. No diarrhea tho. Awful feeling but am having a hard time gagging down lortab. When can we start swallowing pills? I know I was told to take my Biotin gel caps but afraid it will get stuck. Please any insight will help. Friday the 1st will be exactly 7 days post op.

I was taking pills two days after surgery I think it depends on your md and if you have the silastic ring with your bypass .

Walk walk walk..... I had surgery on Wednesday ...all advice was to walk ......I logged a lot of miles walking ... Resting ... And sipping ...I haven't had any problem with gas so far..... The other two women slept all day.... so it made me feel good to get out of the room so I wasn't disturbing them.... I came home today still alittle sore but feeling really good... How are you feeling?

They gave me this breathing apparatus about midnight on my first night to help keep my lungs clear. I found that breathing into that helped me burp because I was forcing more oxygen in and out. I didn't actually pass gas until I was about to go home, I mostly burped.

I ate a scrambled fresh egg with a slice of cheese melted on it! Well not the whole thing- but over half of it! It was DELISH! I'm on the second stage full liquids, I don't know if an egg is part of the menu but I made it and it was yum and no side effects from it yet! Was a nice change up!

I am 11 days post op. I am still wondering if this is gonna work? Anyone else have that? I have PCOS and nothing ever worked. I really don't want to be disappointed with this. It's a huge change. I've list 10 lb total since surgery and I know that is great I was just hoping to be one of those 40 lb loss in the first month girls ya know.

I had to use gravity to help me move gas. I could only pass if I was laying on my back and relaxed. Now that seems to be ALL I do is pass gas ?! Is this my new stinky life? LoL

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
