Fabulous February Post-Op's

Stupid narcotic pain meds!! Caused my BP to drop to 89/60. My surgeon said to go to Rex urgent care for bloodwork. Thankfully BP came up to 112/70 and labs were low but ok for after surgery. Rex urgent care dr was saying if labs were too low then I would have to go by ambulance to Rex for low BP problem. So I'm ok and we are getting liquid Tylenol now.

Note to self: you are 11 days post-op from a major surgery you idiot....slow the heck down. I worked 5 hours today and felt AWESOME after, it was great! Then came home and spent 4 hours standing in the kitchen baking for tomorrow's Cub Scout banquet....I am so paying for it now! Took the first dose of pain meds I've taken since last Saturday and hiding under the heating pad...oops :)

Well on good note my test didn't show any active bleeding t time of test but still don't know where the blood in my stomach came from so they have given me 5 different bags of blood at least my dr comes in 2 times a day to check on. Me and my cardiac dr to but no ideA when I can go home and there still keeping me in ICU my dr said he wants to be very careful so I don't get any blood clots cause they had to stop my Coumadin and Levinix cause not sure why and where the bleeding came from

I'm sorry you are in there' date='keep praying....I am praying too.

I don't know if you were joking about being excited, one thing though.....if you put your food on a smaller dish, it will look more appealing. I am using little sauce bowls and tiny tea saucers.

Slept at home last night and it went pretty well. Took pain meds around 8pm, watched some TV in bed and went to sleep around 9pm. Up at midnight, but sipped on Water for an hour before another does of pain meds and now up at 6am, time for another dose, but I just sipped a glass of water first. Don't feel horrible, but y legs muscles are tightening. I think it is because I don't have a convenient place to roll out of bed and walk. Going on a walk later though. Gained about 8 pounds in the hospital so I'm hoping to be on the losers bench soon ;)

For those having some issues, I am praying you feel better ASAP! I consider myself lucky so to the others that have been relatively complication free, lets be thankful!

Congrats to everyone!

It's a tough balancing act. On the one hand, they want to thin your blod so you don't get clots, but on the other hand, if they thin your blood you are at risk not clotting where your new incisions are, and bleeding... I'm sending positive thoughts to you and to your team of doctors!

Wow! I'm still on purees for the next four weeks. I tried (allowed) scrambled eggs yesterday and chewed them until they were so mushy I could swish them between my teeth... and still threw it all up. :(

Isn't it interesting how different doctors take things at different speeds? I would kill for a bite of chicken right now that didn't come out of a baby food jar! LOL!

I refuse REFUSE to eat baby food....god gave me teeth for a reason!!! I'm just squishing up or blending stuff or eating naturally squishy stuff. To have a real bite of real food would be awesome!!!! Only 20 more days til I get to add ground stuff and toast!!! I would kill for Peanut Butter toast!!!!

The day I had terrible nausea, the doctor figured it was because I hadn't had a BM in six days. Took some Milk of Magnesia, it worked, and no nausea since. I don't know if that applies to you, but for what it's worth...

I hope you feel better soon!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
