Don't be scared your doctor gave you great guidelines to follow and you have wonderful resources here. I understand about boundaries, I have been tempted to pass the limits just to understand the were the limits are. Take care of yourself.

Lisa, I know it's scary but you have to eat to heal!! You need Protein for your body, energy and your hair. It's ok. You will start to lose after the first week once all the fluids and gas is out of your body. Hugs!!

Try ordering the chicken broth from unjury.com. It's 20g of Protein per 6 oz of Water. The others are right, you do need your protein to heal. The Soup saved me. I'm just over 6 mos post op and if there is one thing I know it's that no food = no weight loss. Up the protein & fluids and you WILL start to see the scale move! The soup, for me, was both protein and liquid rolled into one. Good luck!

fuel your body and you will see the weight loss.

I was (what I felt) stuck at 30 pounds. I increased my Protein (wasn't getting enough) and I lost four more pounds.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
