You are to eat slowly... the "full" feeling is the same post op as it is pre-op just a lot quicker :) The reason for eating slow is to give you brain a chance to catch up with your stomach and you dont over eat.

They don't have to worry about that I ate a teaspoon of applesauce with my meds and it was a baby spoon and it took me the entire so minutes. Don't want to throw up or any thing else. My husband was trying to be supportive and brought me a smoothie from Mac Donald's he don't understand the 25 grams carb or less it has 49 grams. I took a verrrrrry tiny sip and as soon as he went to shower I threw it out. I don't want to hurt his feelings cause he is trying so hard.

Congratulations. I forced my self to eat about 2ozs every 3 hours. You have to remind your self to eat and I would only get a serving size of the 2 ozs so I knew I wouldn't over eat. Unfornately now I do get hungary, but you know right away when your full. Day of sugery 7-17-2012 I weighed 311, day I came home I weighed 321. They said not to weigh your self when you got home because of the gain from Water and gas, but I couldn't help myself. Was totally shocked. Current weight 241.

From what I have read it takes at least 3 weeks for all the nerve endings to heal in your stomach... Until then you should measure everything that you put in your mouth. I sill measure everything. Most times I never finish what I measure out!!

I'm three weeks out and there are points it scares me what I can eat. I measure for fear. Then I will have days I can't finish 8 oz of Protein Shake. Just measure and we should be fine. :-).

It normally takes about 6wks for the full feeling to actually kickin. The nerves in the pouch are healing making it hard to feel full.

no sugar added applesauce has been my main stay since getting home on sunday. It is easy to measure and goes down really easy and sits well in my pouch. No bad reactions from it at all. I could have oatmeal, mashed potatoes or cream Soup. But seems like such a hassle to try to make it and then only have two ounces. The applesauce is by far the easiest. So I have been eating two ounces of applesauce three times a day, and drinking three Protein Drinks a day plus other liquid. I hope I am doing this right. I am still on the full liquid stage. Day after surgery in hospital they gave me mashed pot and oatmeal in little one ounce medicine cups.

Try making the mashed potatoes or oatmeal & freezing it in ice cube trays. That way you just have to pop them out & microwave them. I just did this with turkey from Boston Market. I puréed it with some gravy & froze it in the trays. I pop 2 out, put it in the microwave & voila 2 ozs of protein!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
