  1. I'm dealing with one right now. I've been taking contact cold and flu. haven't had any problems with it.
  2. I live in Flint also and Dr. Kia did my surgery. He is the best. I have had no complications and I'm 10 months out now and down 144 lbs. They do have support groups once a month. I don't usually go because of work, but I would love too.
  3. I drink only decaf. I'm 9 months out now and I figured I went that long without caffeine why get addicted to it again. Decaf works just as well in the morning. I started drinking it right after the surgery.
  4. Beef and turkey jerky saved me. That was the only way I could get all my protein in. Chew it very well. 1 oz of turkey jerky has 13 gr of protein.

  6. Shame on your two coworkers who have had this done. They should be the ones you get the most support from. Try not to pay any attention to them, they obviously have something going on with them. Your right your fiancé is the only one that counts. You will have people with a negative attitude about it and some that are really positive. I shrug off the negative ones they don't deserve the space in your head

  9. Sassy14, I could not tolerate garlic at all at first, but i'm 8 months out now and do not have a problem anymore. Wait a little while then try again ( start out with just a little bit)
  10. 1/4 cup of Quinoa and 1 oz of baked chicken. It's the first time having quinoa. It was very good but very filling. I can usually eat more then an oz of chicken.

  12. I had the Cheeseburger Cupcake from Emilybite and OMG they are awesome.
  13. I have absolutely no regrets. With what I know now I would do it again. Off all meds and down 121 pounds in 8 months, and feel great. Got my life back.
  14. Mary, I had mine done at McLaren with Dr. Kia who is with Dr. Dabideen. I have BCBS and I had about $4000.00 in out of pocket cost. That's with all the testing and everything. It was worth every penny. Kim
  15. sounds good. I'm going to try it. I have two bridal showers that i'm doing and i'm going to make a regular cake, but i wanted to find a sugar free not only for me but I have alot of members of the family that are diabetic.

  17. You got very lucky. I wouldn't tempt fate again.
  18. Laurelle that's awesome for 8 weeks, before you know it you will have lost 100. Tash0130 I have been to a few support groups. With my work schedule I have missed a few. They are helpful. The nurses on the surgical floor are awesome. The best nurse's I have ever had. Don't worry about a thing they will take really good care of you.
  19. I loved chicken before the surgery, but I can't tolerate it now. I can handle turkey and beef. They say we should have a hard time with beef, but I guess i'm the opposite. My NUT told me to try thighs because there moister or to use garlic because it's a tenderizer, but that didn't help either.
  20. I'm from Flint and had mine done at Mclaren. Had mine 7/17/12 and down 100 pounds. Tash0130 is Dr. Kia doing your surgery? If he is he's the best. I have had no complications. Very friendly and my family loved him.
