I'm dealing with one right now. I've been taking contact cold and flu. haven't had any problems with it.

Michigan anyone?
I live in Flint also and Dr. Kia did my surgery. He is the best. I have had no complications and I'm 10 months out now and down 144 lbs. They do have support groups once a month. I don't usually go because of work, but I would love too.

Coffee
I drink only decaf. I'm 9 months out now and I figured I went that long without caffeine why get addicted to it again. Decaf works just as well in the morning. I started drinking it right after the surgery.

Beef jerky?
Beef and turkey jerky saved me. That was the only way I could get all my protein in. Chew it very well. 1 oz of turkey jerky has 13 gr of protein.

Harsh coworkers/friends?
Shame on your two coworkers who have had this done. They should be the ones you get the most support from. Try not to pay any attention to them, they obviously have something going on with them. Your right your fiancé is the only one that counts. You will have people with a negative attitude about it and some that are really positive. I shrug off the negative ones they don't deserve the space in your head

1/4 cup of Quinoa and 1 oz of baked chicken. It's the first time having quinoa. It was very good but very filling. I can usually eat more then an oz of chicken.

Does anyone regret having the surgery. If you do why
I have absolutely no regrets. With what I know now I would do it again. Off all meds and down 121 pounds in 8 months, and feel great. Got my life back.

Michigan anyone?
Laurelle that's awesome for 8 weeks, before you know it you will have lost 100. Tash0130 I have been to a few support groups. With my work schedule I have missed a few. They are helpful. The nurses on the surgical floor are awesome. The best nurse's I have ever had. Don't worry about a thing they will take really good care of you.

chicken.....BAD!
I loved chicken before the surgery, but I can't tolerate it now. I can handle turkey and beef. They say we should have a hard time with beef, but I guess i'm the opposite. My NUT told me to try thighs because there moister or to use garlic because it's a tenderizer, but that didn't help either.

Michigan anyone?
I'm from Flint and had mine done at Mclaren. Had mine 7/17/12 and down 100 pounds. Tash0130 is Dr. Kia doing your surgery? If he is he's the best. I have had no complications. Very friendly and my family loved him.

I'm so tired
I had the same problem, and was still having a problem about 6 weeks after so they did blood work and my iron levels were pretty much non existant also my protein level was to low. I now take a iron supplement twice a day and started snacking on turkey jerkey to get my protein in. Of course you can't do the jerky yet, but keep trying with the shakes. I felt like a new person after only a couple of days. You also have to remember that it does take about 4 weeks after to start getting your energy back and don't worry to much if you need to nap. Your body has went through alot and needs time to heal and get used to the new normal. I'm six months out now and 104 lbs. lost and have more energy then I ever had.

106 lbs lost.
Congratulations!!! That's awesome.

What do you take when you are sick?
I'm wondering the same thing. I have been feeling like crap for the last couple of days. With it being in my chest and head. I go to the center on Tuesday for my 6 month checkup; i'm hoping I can make it until then and they can tell my what I can take. I'm pretty sure I need an antibiotic also.

Stopped taking nexium....
I ran out and fiqured I would be fine, but for two weeks I had a lot of discomfort and pain so I called my doctor and he got me another prescription. As soon as I started taking it again the pain stopped. I'm almost 6 months out and I don't plan on stopping it again any time soon.
