Hi Gen, I am thinking/praying for you during this difficult time. I am happy they found it early and I know you will be fine. You are a very strong woman! Keep working on yourself and forget about the people who don't matter anymore! You will find someone new who loves you forever.

ok, i am at stage 3 soft foods, lean meats, chicken, no raw veggies, i can have bananas, doctor said not to eat the FF refried beans because of the calories, He said calorie intake is most important, not to worry about sugar free or fat free stuff, just worry about calories. So i can have eggs, and tuna salad,

just ate a 1/2 of a small size chili from wendys, it was yum yum.

He blamed my big bruise on the blood thinner they gave me in the hospital.

I asked about my legs being weak, and he said that also happens to alot because of being on such a restricted diet.

I cant wait to boil me some chicken, I season it with soul food seasoning, and its good. I would love some good turkey necks, juicy dark meat.

Nut said I can also have fiber now, thats good. They said no raw veggies, I guess that means I can have my collard greens and purple hull peas, yumm. Oh yes I will make my corn bread, but only eat a smidge of it. lol

As james brown sings. I feel good, nanana, I knew that I would now lol

Every new/next step feels gReat doesn't it?! Every Dr is so differenT tho...my last appt I brought my food journal with and I was told NOT to worry so much about the calories...better to focus on the Protein and liquids but of course to keep carbs and sugars down....just be cautious about not adding to many new items at once so that if you do have trouble you can see what you ate that didn't agree with you.....chew chew chew :) .....papaya enzymes are a must have in my opinion!

Old hippie girl where are you from. Lol. I'm from florence, sc and you also sound like a country like me. I'm finally on the maintanence diet and I'm scared to eat because of dumping. Lol

Today is my first day back at work. As the day goes on' date=' I am starting to get really tired and my belly is getting sore. I hope things are better tomorrow!![/quote']

Try to get to bed early tonight. I went back to work last Monday. I drive a school bus and the bumps are nuts. I do have time to rest in between morning mid and afternoon runs but my back hurts and I get to bed early. Hope it gets better for you.

Born and raised till i was 24 in dallas texas. Then lived another 20 years in Meridian Mississippi.

I am all about soul food lol

My Dr and Nut said to watch carbs too. Protein and liquids. At this point they aren't worried about calories cuz only get in 400s. Which is the norm at this stage. But caloric intake will come into play eventually.

Purée stage foods' date=' scrambled eggs, tuna, egg, and chicken salad, Wendy's chili, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, refried Beans, hummus! I add melted cheese to chili and refried beans. Also melted cheese on scrambled eggs. Light mayo with tuna or egg salads. Also imitation crabmeat you can eat too. Cream of wheat!

This is a great list! I'm exactly a week out but still on liquids for another week. Doing my best to get creative at this stage, and really looking forward to the next one, lol.

I am with you! Today was also my first day back (I am a Child Protective Services Worker for the State of Michigan) and it was sure busy being back in the groove! I am feeling wiped tonight but felt fine throughout the day. My only issue today was that I forgot to eat! It is so crazy how the hunger and urge to eat at certain times through the day has disappeared! I also need to focus on maintaining fluids better while working and not leaving behind the Water bottle when I am out and about! Good luck and hopefully the soreness will reduce every day!

So no weight loss in a few days now, bummed! I think I need to up my excerise maybe? The day of surgery I was 269, so I have lost a good 22 pounds, but I am 5.5 weeks now, I just want it all off, lol. I am excited to start regular foods on Monday! Not sure what I will eat, lol. Maybe something crunchy that has some protein. I miss the crunch...Any ideas?
