  1. I had crazy hair loss! It slowed down after 6 months. This is the first I have heard about the biotin causing hunger, but my doc told me biotin does not prevent hair loss, it only helps the strength of hair growth. I take it because I am desperate for healthy and full hair again! Lol
  2. I think I might have a hernia-4 months post op. tender to touch but not a lot of other symptoms (no pain unless push on one certain location). Any advice before I call my doc??!
  3. I feel we need to listen to our stomach and eat as our tummy tells us not our head. I remember about that same time after surgery I felt hungry and expressed very similar concerns. Afraid of doing things wrong and not wanting to fall back into old habits. I was told by doc/nut that as the swelling in your stomach goes down your body will need more food. If you didn't eat enough calories throughout day day your body is going to tell you!
  4. Every program is different. I told my nut about my attempt to cut carbs and she got mad because she doesn't want the focus to be on cutting anything out of our diets and instead make better and balanced choices. I am a catabolic by nature however one thing I have noticed post surgery (3months) I don't crave and/or want carbs like before and it makes me uncomfortable as you can't eat much anyways. Hope that helps!
  5. I do the same for snack or a meal however I have replaced sour cream in my house with using plain Greek yogurt- cant tell the difference!
  6. This is a big no from my doc and nut. I was told your stomach needs time to absorb nutrients from food and also it will cause your stomach to stretch. I get sick and uncomfortable if I drink too soon after eating!
  7. I at it early post op watered down and could only take about 2-4 oz
  8. What part of Michigan are you located? I am in the far north Upper Peninsula. Surgery at MRQ general with Dr. English
  9. How far post op are you? I don't drink enough at all! It is hard to focus on anything but work throughout the day! Any signs besides dark urine you noticed before getting to the pass out point?! Scary and I wish you a speedy recovery!
  10. It's a sub shop chain. We have a lot of them in Michigan.
  11. I also had my first unwich from JJ the other day- good fast food option I feel!
  12. Thanks for all your input and help! I am going to look into a new product and hopefully help with the forgetfulness!
  13. For the multivitamin I was told flint stones (w or w/o iron) or another option is centrum silver chewable or centrum complete chewable. Silver is what I take (2x day) because it doesn't have iron and I take a separate iron supplement twice a day because of low iron levels post op. I also take b12, antacid and calcium chewable three times a day. This is recommended by my nut but I am having a hard time fitting vitamins in my schedule throughout the day since you need to separate calcium and multi every two hours (besides morning and night routine).
  14. Remember not everyone dumps! I was completely prepared for it mentally Pre-op, but post op I have not found anything that makes me do it. I do notice if I eat something I shouldn't with lots of sugar I feel tired and "off", but I don't get physically sick. I sometimes wish I did dump though because of the self control factor!
  15. There was an old post or thread a while back about vitamins and someone posted a brand that sounded like an all-in-one specified for RNY needs. Anyone know what it is and where I can get them?!! My vitamin regime is falling apart with a busy schedule!
  16. My doc required clear liquids while in hospital, full liquids for two weeks post op, and soft foods for four weeks. I am six weeks so not sure what's next!! Lol. I go back on Wednesday. Good luck! I know every doc is different, but on my full liquid stage instant potatoes, strained soups and cream of wheat made me feel the closest to actual food!
  17. I am 6 weeks and 32lbs down. I notice more in the belt moving though!
  18. This is true! I love ice water but it seems to cramp or constrict my stomach. Good point!
  19. I feel this same way! I have even told myself to fear the water and not the food because of how painful it is to drink too much water. I am also still trying to get used to drinking slow and not slamming the water.
  20. My BOOBIES! They are always the first to go no matter how much weight I drop! I noticed right away week one. I am 6 weeks today and my hubs told me today my decreased cup is very noticeable from Pre-surgery.
  21. Papaya enzymes?!! What is it and what does it do?! Please share!
  22. Thanks all! My husband also laughed at me for this one, but it is so much more tolerable for me in the coffee so I guess I was telling myself it must not be right! Lol!
