"Regular Food"?

When did you start eating normal meals? I'm 6 days post op and I'm feeling very grumpy on only liquids.... Blah. I go to my doctor for my one week tomorrow and they will give me my food timeline, but I just thought I'd ask everyone else!

I had a week on liquids, 4 weeks on smooth softs (kinda like puréed), 4 weeks on ground soft then I'm free. So, 2 months give or take.

I had one week clear liquid one week full liquids four weeks soft foods. At six weeks I'm supposed to be able to eat regular foods.

I am 5 days post op. I am crabby too. I am also still very sore. Anything I can do to reduce the pain? I hate not eating. Wish I could at least have something soft.

I'm not sore anymore, but keep up with some tylenol. It'll do the trick without getting the side effects from the pain killers. And I wish I had something soft too. Looking forward to being aloud to having farina tomorrow as part of step 2!

Some doctors are different. Mine says at 4 weeks I'm ok for reg food.

Started with children's meltaway and now just break up 2 adult pills and eat them every minute.

My doc required clear liquids while in hospital, full liquids for two weeks post op, and soft foods for four weeks. I am six weeks so not sure what's next!! Lol. I go back on Wednesday. Good luck! I know every doc is different, but on my full liquid stage instant potatoes, strained soups and cream of wheat made me feel the closest to actual food!
