Anyones weight loss stalled yet? I had my surgery on Dec 5th and lost 25lbs in the 1st 2 weeks. But this whole last week since i have transitioned to solids i have only lost 1 lb! Its really frustrating! I felt like i was doing so good now i dunno what happened. I am eating between 200-300 calories a day...is that too much? I think i will start working out this week too since i feel up to it now. And ideas????

I am only a week post op.. had my one week appt friday and wasn't expecting any difference in the scale. my last weigh in at the doctor office was 271.. and after that nasty drink my weight at the hospital was 267... my one week weigh in was 258. I also feel like I should be losing more. I asked my doc what I was doing wrong and he told me that I'm not doing anything wrong. normally if you have a fatty liver it can take from there first. and make sure your drinking and doing your walking as well. I just want more results then what I am seeing. I get so discouraged when I read other peoples stories of big amounts of weight taken off... but then again I think of the ability to be tightening up as I'm slowly losing and don't have to worry bout the loose skin as much. we need to keep our heads up and keep positive. best of luck

That is too little of calories per my Dr. I am doing between 300-500 right now and he said that is putting me in starvation mode which can stalls things. The more Protein you are taking in the better and more loss you will receive. He also said Water helps things move along, so those 2 are big with weight loss. I am losing a pound every 2-3 days on average now. I would suggest doing some weight training, that is what my nut told me if I want to lose more weight since muscle burns calories faster. Maybe up your excerise routine to get over this hump? I have read a lot of posts about stalls throughout, but they all seem to not last too long, I am sure you will start losing again.

Mine did for a week. I became mildly dehydrated, stopped losing and actually gained weight (assuming Water weight). But it's gone now and losing. 200-300 a day is too little my opinion. Are you getting all your Protein in? I eat around 400-500. I am able to get all protein in. Your body probably is in starvation mode.

I got mine from walgreens for $30. It's over by the ace bandages. I had a really hard time finding it. Also make sure you check the size. I got the biggest one and it barely fits (for now!)

Tat2girl: I had issues with my loss too. I actually gained due to dehydration...but I'm losing now. I average a pound every 2 days. That is my body. I won't have huge losses like others on here and I don't think my body would handle that. I got realistic with myself and my thoughts of all this, what I came up with is that: I'm following the guides, getting all Protein n Water in, my body is different and cuz of that my huge weight loss is only going to b around 15-20 a month. I'm ok w that cuz I am seeing and feeling the results. Every body is different and it is ok to not have huge weight losses. Just get your protein in cuz that is huge w weight loss, get that water in, try working out and you'll continue to get results. You just might have to have a little talk with yourself as I did. Working those muscles helps to burn more, so you'll have more loss providing you're getting the protein in. I get 60+ protein. 72g yesterday.

Protein has been a huge issue... my stomach isn't tolerating any of the powders. I'm getting in my Water. and since I've been on third shift for 7yrs my body is trying to catch up on sleep too. I was just cleared to start back at the gym. I am going to do my walking and water aerobics today. I hope something turns around for me soon

Hi ladies,

Have been reading posts and thought I would share my progress and hope it will help some of you. I started my pre op on Dec 3 and surgery on Dec 17. On Jan 4, I finally reached the 20 lb loss mark. I have had several plateaus and just kept on with what I was doing. I am typically a slow loser and would be thrilled to have lost what some of you lost just in the preop stage. We are required to have a class with psych after surgery and one of her main topics was about plateaus and spending too much mental effort on not losing instead of celebrating what you have done so far. She said patients who get too fixated on the numbers Instead of focusing on good eating and celebrating their success are much more likely to gain it back for a variety of reasons. She said we need to work on focusing on other things besides weight numbers. She said plateaus will occur because your body has to adjust and just to expect it. If it lasts longer than 3 weeks then call the nut who will look at what we are eating and make suggestions. Hope this helps and gives some of you some peace of mind about your progress.

Got to get your body out of starvation mode. Finally got my calories up to 700 and the stall broke. I stalled for about a week.

The protien is really hard for me too. I am so sensitive to even the unflavored powder. Ugh..my brother in law gave me a good idea tho. Hes an athlete and he says they mix like the choc or vanilla flav shakes with fresh fruit and make smoothies. Ive only tried the choc one with strawberries but it was better!

I've tried it with smoothies as well and still a no go. prob gonna call my nutritionist tomorrow. I don't know what else to do. I'm starting to get discouraged

I'm the same as you. I have had no Protein because I can't tolerate the taste and I'm tired of spending money on things trying to find stuff that works

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
