3 Months Out And 50 Lbs Thinner! :)

Recommended Posts

I am so thankful and blessed to have had the surgery. I wouldn't change it and couldn't be happier with my choice to get it. I have my times when eating is harder then normal but the outcome is worth it. I loved food before and now food isn't the same. But that's good for me because pretty sure I was becoming addicted to food. I want to lose another 40-50 lbs. For anyone needing reassurance, gastric bypass was the best for me.

I am so happy for you!! I am a little over 3 months out (Surgery 8/13/12) and feel the same way.... I am about to make the 70 lb mark and be under 300 lbs! I only have 2 lbs to go!!!

So I share your excitement and I think this is the best thing that I could have done not only for me but my family as well!

Best wishes to you!!

Wow I hope at 3 months I've lost that much. It seems to be going slower for me

Today was my 3 month appointment and I'm 275

I'm 4 pounds for a 100 pounds lost since meeting with surgeon yay

I just don't know to describe the joy and jubilation I feel

I haven't been this size for 20 years ( I know I'm telling my age but that's ok)

Hoping to weigh 250 by my birthday January

Wish me luck

It's a struggle some days but you have to remember you didn't get over weight over night, so the weight can't come off over night!! Have faith and we can all do it!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
