I am about 3.5 weeks post op & 30 lbs down. I had to go to Goodwill this weekend to get some clothes that fit. I have to admit that was a good feeling! Sizes I haven't been into in years! I still am not getting near enough fluids in. Anyone have any tips or secrets? I am told it takes 2 weeks to make a new habit. Ugh! :/

I am DesperateDawn on myfitnesspal.com so people can add me. Started working out at week 2! Zumba, Line Dancing, Exercise Bike, & Walking right now. Sorry to hear about people who are having a hard time, hope you all feel better soon! I am eating and drinking well, and now that the tenderness in my jaw is going down Multivitamins aren't so bad. I have stopped wearing 20's but I am still in a 18w, BUT when was the last time I lost over 20 lbs in 3 weeks? UM....never! Hope everyone is staying positive and upbeat!

I'm worm2872 on MFP. You can add me as well. I am a faithful user!

I'm only down 21 in four weeks but I'll take it. PMS is playing games right now... I still struggle with Water. I am lucky if I get in 40-50 oz. I actually switched back to regular water instead of stuff added in it and it seems to be going better.

Dawn, I'm finally out of 20's as well! Yea At least an 18 is approaching a 'normal' size. :-)

I see some people are already working out. I am only allowed to walk right now. I still have a very open incision. Just curious who did open vs lap? I did lose 20 my first 13 days but have not lost any since. I was having trouble eating but can now eat anything i want which scares the crap out of me. I can not eat a lot though. Getting in about 400 calories and struggling to get 50g Protein in. Maybe about 60% of my Water intake is making it. So I am striving for 800 calories, 70 g protein and the full 64 oz of water. I never really had too much pain the worst thing is that I have a 4 inch open inciion down my stomach and have to wear a binder 23.5 hours / day the only time it is off is during my shower. Just curios what other people are experiencing. Also I really would like some suggestions of what people are eating daily. I am extremely picky right now it looks like I will live off of grilled chicken plain for every meal. Thanks for the help

I am 3 weeks and 1 day out. The first 13 days I lost 20 pounds. Then over a couple of days lost 2 more pounds, immediately gained them back then today step on the scale and have gained 2 more. Is there something wrong with my body, did I already hit a plateau? Am I just going to be fat forever?

I had vertical sleeve on November 26 and weighed 310 and as of December 19 I weigh 286 so I'm down 29 pounds yay and I'm on the purée stage and its going pretty good. So far no complications. So know I am working out at snap fitness and that part sucks but it will be worth it in the end. Hope everyone is doing well and taking those Vitamins.< /p>

Everything's going great, and I'm grateful. However I wonder, how long will it be until I can finish a serving of something? Like when will I be able to eat more than 1/4c? I'm in no rush, so please don't think I am. I'm just curious. I'm 5weeks out and down almost 30lbs. I guess I'm just thinking ahead to my bffs wedding in may. As to whether I will be able to actually eat semi normally. I don't mean eat the whole buffet either LOL

All of a sudden, I can eat more than a 1/4 of a cup. I had some all day nausea for my third and fourth week then I was fine and could eat a more. I'm in my fifth week now.

I think some of the internal swelling went down. I am still really careful eating. I just hope I didn't strech anything out. My luck I did. But I do know that some people can eat more than others at this point.

My dietician said after 3-4 weeks people can start eating alittle more but to make sure you never go over 3/4 cup

Another week and I can start eating regular foods...looking forward to a salad! One thing I've found that I've been enjoying is the fat free turkey chili wrapped in a tortilla with fat free cheese...of course I can't eat the whole tortilla only about a third then I just scoop the last few bites of chili out and eat that..

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
