Walked my neighborhood...and realized the walk that 2 months ago took me 35 minutes and exhausted me, now takes 22 minutes and I'm still raring to go! Apparently time to add another loop on our path!

  • Ok so I'm a postal worker and have the day off so started exercise early... Rode stationary bike for 25 min and then swam 15 laps.. Hubby and I are off to walk 2 miles... It's a beautiful day in Oklah

NONE! Help me. I need some motivation. My Dr. Wants me walking 40 mins. a day and on my best days, I have gotten close, but it's not routine yet. I can't fathom walking that much right now when I get light headed just walking upstairs at home or trying to load the dishwasher. I am 7 weeks out from surgery, but have had some complications that kept me in and out of the hospital for over 5 weeks. I feel like I'm just getting started. How did you all get started in the beginning?

It took me almost 2 months before I could do anything. I wouldn't worry about getting to 40 so soon. The doc means well but we know our bodies better. I remember only being about to do the elliptical for 10 minutes when I first started & now I am up to a hour. I am almost 5 months out. You will get there in time but don't rush. I did in the beginning & it set me back weeks.

How is hip hop abs going? I was thinking about trying it. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

It's tough but almost fun since it's kind of dancing.

Day one of Hip Hop Abs.

Day two is gonna suck. I used muscles I didn't remember I had. Hope I can crawl out of bed in the morning.

Girl! That's how I felt in hot hula! It only goes uphill from here. :-)

Anyone tried zumba ? I'm considering it.

I'm excited for my Doctors appointment tomorrow 3 months post op. Down 87 lbs since my first appointment with the doc. Down 70 since surgery. :)

Knock on wood I've been blessed. I haven't had any dumping syndrome and not tossing my cookies. But, I haven't had any breads, rice, pastas. I'm feeling good. :)

I do Zumba on Tuesday and Wednesday. Its alot of fun and a full body workout. I can't wait to have my surgery so I can start seeing the results of all this fun booty shakin! :-)

45 minute interval workout on the ARC trainer. 653 calories burned.

Went out and walked 4 miles and enjoyed the fall colors :)

Best part, going up the hill was not a struggle, not even huffing or puffing :)

Walked 10,000 steps

Here is a suggestion for those that are having a hard time making it to the gym because of work or whatever maybe going on in your life at the time. I have a stationary bike, a mini trampoline, mini stair stepper, resistance bands, weights not to mention several different work lit videos that I use here at home. It's cheaper to do this at home in my option and you can do it when you can a little more easier that way too. I'm 3 years post op now and I haven't stepped a foot into a gym.

well so far my exercise today has been keeping up with a group of 19 pre k kids in my computer lab... bouncing from one laptop to another to keep them on the website they are working on :)
