Ready To Ditch The Chewables

At 3 months post op I am so sick of nasty chewable Vitamins. I did switch to gummy vitamins but I'm so ready to go back to regular vits and add my hair skin and nail back. Can these get stuck? Has anyone gone back to whole pills? When? And how did it go?

Thanks

I've been swallowing whole pills since the surgery.

  • I was told that when i switched to and could tolerate "normal" foods I could take pills. That was about 2 months for me. I,ve not had any problems yet.

I tried them. I survived. It wasnt too bad. I never felt like vomiting which is what i was worried about. They r kinda dry but after i chewed and swallowed i took a sip of Water to rinse out my mouth. Anyhow this will work:)

You chewed capsules? I swallowed them whole. I can't take chewables as they make me dump

I swallow two big Zegerid capsules every night. I'm 5 days post op...should I be concerned??

I was told to crush my pills for 2 months, and take chewables vitamins. But apparently all surgeons are so different so I don't know what to tell ya:) after reading all these comments the past couple days, I started just cutting my pills in half and taking them that way and continuing my chewable vitamins. The 3 pills I have are so small though. And the other 2 that are capsules, I am still opening those up and just swallowing the powder. I just couldn't crush those other 3 anymore, It was making my pouch hurt so bad.

Well crap! I am 33 days post op for rny. I couldnt tolerate any hard pills so i stopped taking them all together 2 weeks ago. I just ordered a ton of chewables and was super excited to recieve them. But now u guys r saying u hate those too. Sounds like a no win situation to me.

Hang in there.

I use the one a day women's multi Vitamins petite. They are smaller and they have a coating on them. I have no problems taking them.

I am about to go into surgery, but I picked up Men's GNC Mega vitamin in liquid form. I don't know if doc is cool with it but I have an appointment before and I'll find out then.

I use the chewables--are they yummy? Not so much but it's over in a second.

I checked with my doc and there's no issue with mens megavitamin in liquid form.

I also found liquid centrum. We will see how it tastes.
