Ok my bariatric family I need your help with something. Many of you already know that I am a chef and restauranteur and I may be embarking on a new venture with the medical group that performed my surgery. Here's the deal:

I'm sure you've all seen Smart Ones, Weight atchers, etc. meals in your grocers freezers. How ould you feel if there were Bariatric-specific meals available to you in the same freezers? I'm not talking bland food either! I mean flavorful food that you'll love!

What are your thoughts? I'm even thinking of producing foods specific to the eating stage you're in

God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..

  • Tank....great idea!! You need a taste tester??? I feel like I eat the same old stuff all the time!

  • I think it would be great. I would say pack it with protein and low salt and sugar. Also please make some with regular sugar - some of us are allergic to the artificial sugar.

FANTASTIC! I don't know why someone hasn't already done this. Just make sure we can get them in Kansas City!

Tank, if you can mass produce it, find a cost effective distribution channel, sell it at a price competitive with folks like Weight Watchers and Lean Cuisine, and secure a trial run from even one of the grocery chains - you'll make a fortune. Big (and costly) challenge but wow - over the top potential!! I can see it in the freezer section now - "Bariatric Bonanza!" "BIG Protein! BOLD Flavors! BEST Choice!"

Let me know if you start looking for investors!

Great idea for people with others in their homes who may not eat like we WLS people eat.

I would like vegetarian choices for protein I don't eat meat.

Great idea! I was thinking about this at the grocery store. Having quick lunch options for work would be great! Would be nice for those nights when the kids aren't home too! I agree with DLC. Also agree please keep the tons of soggy red peppers out of them - gross!! And if you do your homework the meals could be compatible with Atkins or medifast possibly!

I'll be your RN spokesperson testimonial! :)

Do you use hemp as a source of protein at all? It's great! I use it all the time:)

I agree, no red peppers! They're overpowering and ruin everything.
