Ok my bariatric family I need your help with something. Many of you already know that I am a chef and restauranteur and I may be embarking on a new venture with the medical group that performed my surgery. Here's the deal:

I'm sure you've all seen Smart Ones, Weight atchers, etc. meals in your grocers freezers. How ould you feel if there were Bariatric-specific meals available to you in the same freezers? I'm not talking bland food either! I mean flavorful food that you'll love!

What are your thoughts? I'm even thinking of producing foods specific to the eating stage you're in

  • Tank, if you can mass produce it, find a cost effective distribution channel, sell it at a price competitive with folks like Weight Watchers and Lean Cuisine, and secure a trial run from even one of

  • Tank....great idea!! You need a taste tester??? I feel like I eat the same old stuff all the time!

  • I think it would be great. I would say pack it with protein and low salt and sugar. Also please make some with regular sugar - some of us are allergic to the artificial sugar.

That would be so great

I just hope they won't have too much sodium

I would buy it for sure! I have such a hard time choosing food.

I think it's an excellent idea Tank. As far as figuring out the stage of eating might be a little difficult because we all get different plans it seems but, I think you could still do it by listing the ingredients and the consumer can check that out.

So many times I wanted to buy a meal because my guys weren't going to be home but, I couldn't buy them because of the fat or sugar content. Options would be wonderful! Go for it!

I would buy it in an instant! I live by myself and when the boyfriend isn't over I have so much food left over from when I cook something.

You could do broth, puree, solid, modified solid. It's hard to find broths that taste good but have decent sodium levels.

Oh my gosh, Tank! Incredible idea! I read somewhere there are 100,000 weight loss surgeries a year and that will grow! Count me in as a constant purchaser!

I'm in ... I cant stand the frozen meals at the store now. All the weight conscious ones have red peppers! I hate those! Why can't they put those on the side in a bag??

I can't have any of the sugar free stuff and it really limits things for me. It would be nice to have options.

Are you allergic to fructose?

These are all great ideas!! Keep em coming!! I just spoke with my lawyer and I am applying for the "Beri-Delicious" company name as a subsiderary of my restaurants.

This is a wonderful idea! I get so bored with my available choices!

I was just shopping today wishing for frozen meals specific to our diet! What an amazing idea! You might have struck gold!

If you need someone to sample, send some my way!

That is such a good idea!! I always leave it to my customers to manage allergies. It will be good to have options!

Not real sure what it is that I have a problem with, but it will give me a really bad migraine. I know for sure that aspertane really makes me miserable.
