  1. Make sure your house is ready. Meaning you have water, protein powder or already made protein shakes available. Also the first week you can have Popsicles and jello so buy some of those. It helped having everything I need because you don't want to start off unprepared.
  2. Not any swelling on the outside at least! But ok thank you!
  3. I am only 9 days post op and have lost 14lbs. That's awesome. But now I'm not seeing a change!! I don't eat much. I am trying to start to make sure I walk at least 30mins a day and another activity along with it. What should I do? I drink water and try and get as much protein. Also take vitamins daily. I know it's only a week and a couple days post op I just don't wanna fail and I have failed all other weight loss things clearly why I had surgery. Help!
  4. Okay I have carnation breakfast too. I also drink protein chocolate shakes that have 30g a drink. I figure if I have one for breakfast and one for a snack later after lunch or something I'll be good
  5. Okay thank you both! I need to get more protein in. The powder just tastes so nasty. Even the nonflavor kind. Ugh. What do u drink?
  6. The annistesia, however u spell it, wears off you'll be more awake. I was the same way. I just wanted to sleep. Walk and get your rest.
  7. Surgery day I weighed 253. Today, 8 days later, I weigh 239. So around 13 or 14lbs. Is that good? Or should I been losing more? Am I on track? I hope to lose 20 more within this month. Is that realistic? I haven't exercised hardcore yet bc I'm only one week post op. Should I focus on walking and riding a bike?
  8. Your nutritionist at the Drs should have told you how much you need everyday. Everyone is different.
  9. Yes tylenol. When I had a pounding headache they said take tylenol no aspirin.
  10. I am 6 days post op and on my surgery day I weighed 253. Yesterday I weighed myself thinking Hey it's almost been one week. Three scale said 238. Which is awesome! I am hoping it will be similar to my Dr scales. Bc you can only use one scale and go by it. I want to lose a total of 100lbs. I want to weigh 150. Makes me all excited thinking about it! I think 10lbs a month is realistic. The first two months possibly 20lbs each. Your swelling should go down soon I didn't have that happen to me so I really don't know. Good luck with your journey!
  11. Wow okay thanks! I'm glad I'm not alone. I was worried.
  12. The nurses said my period may start over again once I had my surgery. For some reason idk. But it didn't for the first day or so and now I am 5 days post op and have a heavier period then my normal one!! What the heck?? Has this happened to anyone? Should I be concerned? I know it may seem gross but had to ask.
  13. Thank you! I will have to try all those things. I like vitamin water too propel and crystal light so I'll get some of those. Thanks for the replies!
  14. Okay Thank you. I was feeling so bad that I was not drinking water but as of now it doesn't appeal to me. I'll try the mio and packets!
  15. I am 3 days post op and have had pounding headaches and my doctor says but it could be from not drinking or eating enough. Sense I'm only on a full liquid diet I need help. I've eaten jello popsicles fudgesicles even apple sauce. Also the nurse told me I could have soft eggs. I CAN'T DRINK WATER. I have such a hard time drinking!! I never drink alot. Do I have to drink just pure 64oz of water?? or can I dilute water with juice and drink 64oz of that!?? or put packets in it?? I can't do plain water!!! And I feel so bad
  16. I only took a pair of clothes to leave in. Slippers, chapstick, underwear, pillow. Books and music but honestly I was so tired and sore I couldn't read or stay awake. You mostly sleep. I even try thought watching tv was annoying. I just wanted sleep bc the meds or sedation knocked me out. And you stay in your hospital gown the whole time and it's pretty comfortable bc its baggy.
  17. How much weight lost at 2 weeks? How much after one month? Three months? Six months? One year?
  18. I had my surgery Aug 29 Wednesday, and left Thursday Aug 30. I had no complications or no breathing issues. I had no nausea or high blood pressure. I was well although I still have left side pain. It's more of an ache. Also a headache I don't know if it is from the sedation or what but I am sleepy so mostly resting and getting up every hour or so to walk a little. Hope it helps.
  19. I have drank water, broth, popsicle and jello. I may need more and I do walk. Maybe it's just this week I'll have to get though. Thanks!
  20. Thanks. Yeah I wouldn't think they'd mix up but I guess I never know.
  21. Two different nurses say to me after surgery, did u have the sleeve done? I said no.. bypass. They say Oh ok it was written here that's all. Ahhh! What if they did the wrong surgery??!!
  22. Wednesday was my surgery and I am still in pain. I know it's only Friday but it's hard to get any sleep. It's like I have flu symptoms, headache and body aches. Ugh it's hard to drink water bc I can feel it going down and it's uncomfortable. Also I can eat jello or Popsicles well bc I can feel it. I try though. Bc I don't wanna be dehydrated. Does anyone have suggestions??!! Did u feel this way?? I'm trying to sleep a lot but when I wake up I Still feel crappy. I know it'll take time but I don't like feeling like I cant do anything.. help
