Doing A Good Deed

As I stated before I got approve for SNAPS. I'm getting a large amount. I haven't used it all yet. I did get everything we needed. My fridge is full & my freezer is loaded with all types of meat. I have nothing else to buy. In October I get more SNAPS. It will add to the amount I have now. The basic stuff like milk juice eggs I get with WIC. So idk what to do with all the extra SNAPS. I have 365 days to use it or lose it. So I was thinking of buying my mom food in December when everyone gets to see the new me. I want to get her a lot of food including meat.

Is this a good idea?

Food and money are things hard to get. Food shouldn't be wasted so many hungry people in this world. Money always goes on bills.

Im sure she will be very thankful!!!

Why not save them until you know for sure you won't need them and the go buy stuff with the almost expired ones and donate to a shelter? Those of us who are used to living pay check to pay check often think that if I have it, I HAVE to spend it, not so if they give you a year to use it. You may need some more than your allotted amount around the holidays, or for birthdays or for another special occasion.

Your right about the holidays. I do make a lot of food here. Let's see what happens. I won't spend it unless I need something & thanks god I now don't have to make a stretch to feed the family.

We live pay check after pay check. Every Thursday hubby gets paid & every Friday all the bills get paid. Soon things will get better because 1 more payment on the largest bill & we will be able to finally have some extra cash.

I have kept up with your posts and know that this would be a very loving gesture between you and your mom. Might help bridge the gap. I say go for it!!!

I'm going to make sure I have everything we need so I don't regret it later. Now that I have it I don't want to be selfish. If she's in need even if she doesn't want to talk to me I'm not gonna let her go with out food. I feel now that I'm an adult and thanks god I have extra I should buy her a little something not spend the entire amount but buy her things I know she will use. Rice oil meat eggs orange juice ect..

I do that for my mom with mine. And I always make sure I have enough to get me through the month with milk. Wic just doesn't cover it all.

That's true WIC is not enough & I guess since so many people are on it they don't give you as much as years ago.
