My dr allows you to have small amounts of alcohol 12-18 months out I was just wondering if after the surgery does a little go a long way does it in fact make you a "cheap date"?

drinks go to your head a lot faster. When you first have a drink make sure you are at home with someone you trust.

So nothing will change for me. I was always a cheap date being on 11 different Med's befor surgery alcohol was almost nonexistent 1 beer was like a six pack (great way to save money on booze) no fun at a bar

Have at it just please don't drink and drive.

My right leg still hurts from time to time thinking about the drunk driver that ran me down and drove off. Took almost a year & (6 surgerys) for me to heal and learn how to walk again with my right leg

DRINK but DONT DRIVE

Moscato doesn't make you dump? It's so sweet.

It's strange how sensitive I am to the tinyest bit of sugar. But my favorite thing to drink is hard cidar. I prefer the sweeter kinds. It had 19g of sugar per bottle. Not a single problem. I'm thinking it just hits differently. But I thought I was going to be billy badass and drink three in a row. I was smashed!!! Stayed so for about an hour, then I had a hangover from hell. It hits fast and wears off just as fast.

Doctors often quote a ratio of 3 to 1. One drink post-op is like three pre-op. Be careful. There are some horror stories out there about bypass patients getting a DUI after one drink. If you're going to have even one drink, definitely best to give your keys to someone else.

Nah I'm a way more boring 21 year old. I'm so lame that on my 21st (8/6) I went bowling and had a glass of wine and didn't even get drunk.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
