Quick Question About Tricare 6 Month Supervised Weighloss

I read on tricare that I need 6 months of documented by my PCM failed attempts to lose weight.. I went to my first consult with the surgeon and my weight was 226- but they said they were going to document it as 230..with 39.5 bmi

I have chronic back pain

Pre-hypertension

Bladder incompetence

Asthma

And my heart rate has been high

Btw I'm only 22yrs old

My question is during these 6 months do I have to lose weight or does it have to be a failed attempt? The surgeon told me that I have to go down to 207 right before surgery which i have 6 months to do that but I'm scared that I will get denied because my BMI would be 35.5...

How does this work do they count the first day documented or after I lose the weight for surgery?
