  2. Congrats I can't wait to get my surgery and start this journey keep it up
  3. Well let me start from the. Begining... I am 22 yrs old and I weight 230 lbs I am 5'4... I have chronic back pain it's so bad Ihaven't. Been able to walk all week because my back hurts so much drs have no clue what I have and he said that the best way to get rid of the paint is to lose the weight!.,.. I already went to my surgeons consult and he said he could do the surgery by the end of sep.... But tricare is making me do the 6 month diet with my dr... Now to my question... Do any of u know I tricare would make an exception to the 6 month diet if it's urgent? Like if my dr writes them a letter explaining my situation.. I'm so tired of being in pain and I don't know how I'm gunna wait 6 months also my blood pressure has been extremely high :/ an my heart beat super fast.. Dr said I need to lose weight ASAP but I can't even get up to walk or do any type of excersise.. I eat extremely healthy and he knows because I have to keep a food journal.. Any advice is appreciated ... Thanks guys
  4. My dr actually said that I could have my surgery the last week of sept.. But my insurance requires the 6 month thing
  5. Thanks I'm kinda confused of how this 6 month thing works
  6. I read on tricare that I need 6 months of documented by my PCM failed attempts to lose weight.. I went to my first consult with the surgeon and my weight was 226- but they said they were going to document it as 230..with 39.5 bmi I have chronic back pain Pre-hypertension Bladder incompetence Asthma And my heart rate has been high Btw I'm only 22yrs old My question is during these 6 months do I have to lose weight or does it have to be a failed attempt? The surgeon told me that I have to go down to 207 right before surgery which i have 6 months to do that but I'm scared that I will get denied because my BMI would be 35.5... How does this work do they count the first day documented or after I lose the weight for surgery?
  7. Hello I'm new and starting my journey right now.. I actually already went to my first consult with the surgeon. But my insurance (tricare) is making me do a 6 month supervised weight and excercise program.. I should be having the surgery in jan- feb 2013 :/ but I just want some support I really have no one to talk about this... I actually started a video vlog on YouTube which I want to start documenting all my appointments and updating with everything I have I do pre op and post op. if you guys want to check it out my YouTube username is nikkilvslife
