I have had a knee surgery and my knee just hurts, mainly bc I carry 400lbs on it all day. I keep 10lb weights by my couch and just do whatever arm exercises while I watch tv. After a few weeks I have been able to tell a difference. It seems silly at first. But now even my best friend will do it with me.

Your welcome. I was never an exercise person but something inside me click!! And when I started my pre-op diet I started doing the DVD exercise. It was a 3 mile walk and the first time I made it to 1 mile (never told anyone) I felt I was gonna die & wanted to quit. The second day made it to 2 mile & 3rd day yesss! 3mile walk. I was proud of my self. I haven't done the DVD exercise but I now walk 30 mins a day. I work out at the gym for 30-45mins. Now I can't say I love it but I enjoy it & it makes me feel good.

Just found this app too!! I had surgery on 7/9 and am very happy with my decision. Looking forward to meeting a lot of people in the same situation as me.

Well I guess I will not tell anymore friends about my plans to have surgery because this was the comment I got. Well I know people that have this surgery and they always blow back up.

they have no idea how there negativity hurts us. although its true some people regain (there's) two of them in my office, but it is also 3 that have done great for over 4 years now. the difference is their eatting habits. the two live on fast food the 3 bring lunch and they walk on breaks. but like you, i will not tell anyone else before my surgery i really can't handle the negativity right now.

Ok, soooo I took mslady's advice and started yesterday doing three reps of ten with the dumb bar, its only 5 pounds, but its a start right ? And today I'm going to repeat it and I'm going to walk for 5 minutes. I know that sounds so lame, but I gotta start somewhere. I hope your all having a good day !!

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
