This is day 5 and I have nooo energy. Bleeding is light dr said put a bandage. I'm getting my Water and Protein and Vitamins in but all wanna do is sleep. Lord hear my prayer.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I have zero to no energy for almost 2 months, if not a little longer! Your body just went through a HUGE change! Just do what you can- still exercise even if it's just a couple of minutes. Make sure your taking your Vitamins, Water and Protein. The fatigue is normal- don't get frustrated ...this to shall pass!

Has everyone here had the laparoscopic surgery or open procedure? How about the Da Vinci Robotic Surgery?

I had gastric bypass laparoscopically. No dains, No stitches etc. The surgery was the easiest part I did not feel anything. I think your stomach is very sore afterwards for moving all the instruments around in the tiny 6 incisions.

Holy crap u get Protein already :( !! I am day 6 and still on Clear liquids. Low energy is to be expected hun and from what I have read very normal. Try not to overdo it and make sure your staying hydrated! Watch the drainage for color/smell and heat/redness around sites but hang in there!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
