Protein/food/enough Calories

Hello

I'm doing good as far as keeping food down, but I have some exception if I drink too much Water at once or don't chew well I will vomit, but besides that I'm doing just fine.

I'm not getting the 50grams of Protein per day as written in the sheet the surgeon gave me. In fact I can't stand the protein from atkins mocha latte which I was loving before surgery. Can someone tell me what can I do to get my protein intake?

I'm only able to eat 2-4 bites at a time, and I don't eat all day long. I eat because I have to live, but other then that if I eat once a day I'm good, but I try to eat at least 3-4 times a day since it's just a small amount I can eat. According to the sheet I'm suppose to consume 800-1000 calories per day which I'm far less then that. If I eat 300 calories or less that's all I can get in.

You tell me how your doing with your protein/vitamin & calories intake. I don't know what to do.

I'm looking forward to abdominal excercise after July 30th. According to my sheet here.

  • I bought it on the unjury website. It's pricey. You can also try the wonderslim products...they make some protein soups as well.

unjury chicken broth was a lifesaver for me. 8 ounces of soup = 21g of Protein. You have to order it at unjury.com. Good luck!

I'm gonna check it out. Thanks

I drink a 30g protein shake first thing in the am, one after lunch, and try for at least 1/2 a shake after dinner...totaling around 75g...as my dr recommends 60-90g. Plus cottage cheese and Greek yogurt are great sources of protein. The shake I drink are from Premiere nutrition I also alternate w Unjury...which gives 20g of

Your doing way better then me. I can't stand the shakes, but I will look for food or other drinks besides shakes with protein. In about 2 weeks or so I should have money to order the soup from unjury.com

I got unflavored 100% wey protein in GNC it has 21 grams of protein per scoop and they told me that I can mix it with anything (food, gelatin, smoothies, etc..)

Yes, try the unflavored from GNC...more affordable and you can put it in whatever. I can taste it but not too bad.

Thanks everyone you are so helpful. I'm going to check it all out.. Gotta get it all in before my next surgeon appointment.

Hi girl! I too have issued with the protein. They all

Taste so gross. I started using the unjury unflavored... Its gross but you can mix wih everything. Also, I bought a huge supply of Isopure. You can drink that and it counts towards your liquid intake...

Y'all need to try "Muscle Milk" Protein shake' date=' it taste so good. All the other shake are Nasty! You can get it from GNC

Phenomenal Woman Aka Bosslady using RNYTalk[/quote']

I bought muscle milk light and I gagged for hours. I finding the low sugar shakes have the fame sugar and I can't cut it.

I have been on Isopure Low Carb Dutch Cholocate. I mix it with skim milk, its not my fav. drink but I do drink it. My dr. requires a minimum of 64 grams of protien a day. I eat yogurt and cottage cheese for breakfast, protein shake for a snack between breakfast and lunch. Any other protein is a bonus. I do drink the Special K protein water packets too. I know the shakes are nasty.. I just drink them as quick as I can without getting sick and just be done with it - LOL. Check out the protein flavor packetts you put in water by Specail K I think they are like 5 grms of protein per packett ... the strawberry/kiwi is pretty tasty :) You really need your protein... you don't want to loose your hair. My hair is thin to begin with so I am real strict on getting my protein in each day.

My friend told me about a shake he loves called synthra6. It has 50 grams protein in 16 oz and he said it is amazing!

I also sip on the unjury broth for meals. It's just like bullion!

Where do you buy the Unujry broth and protein?

Mami, it might help if you tell us specifically what shakes and any other Protein options (such as bars) you have tried. Otherwise we're kind of shooting in the dark. I've tried everything everyone has named so far in this thread. My personal two favorites - Pure Protein with 35g of protein per 11oz can and Myoplex with 42g of protein per 17oz serving. Myoplex hands down has the best taste, most protein, and 300 calories per serving (which it sounds like you need). I chose Pure Protein because I didn't need the calories and Pure Protein has 160 calories and tastes almost as good. The Pure Protein Bars are also excellent and available from 20g of protein all the way up to a whopping 78g. They have a number of flavors but for my money, the chocolate Deluxe is absolutely superb.

You're doing great on the weight loss. But I'm sure your doctor told you how important the protein is for the healing process. Calories are probably less important than protein but 300 calories a day is not enough and it's not sustainable long term. Anything that is not sustainable does not meet the all important "prime directive" - lifestyle changes. Have you called your doctor to get his/her advice? If not, now might be a very good time to do so. There are many, many options and you only need to find one that works for you. Failure to do so could force your body into starvation mode which will slow your weight loss and the healing process.

I know you can do this! And I think from reading all of the posts on the forum, you know it too. Take charge, talk to your doctor, and give us more specific information so we can offer more specific suggestions!
