Hi All,

I am new to this and i think i have some how found my way on to a USA site oops!! :rolleyes:

hope you dont mind having me? I am from Rayleigh,Essex in England.

I am a 35 year old mother of 4 i have been following the route of getting a gastric bypass for 2 years now!

I have finally been approved by the nhs for my surgery which will be taking place on the 22/06/12.

I am very excited and nervous all in one go.i Have had to pack my kids of to my parents in Spain for a few weeks to give me a chance to recover as you can imagine having a 10,6,4,3 year old i am on the go all the time!

I really want to meet like minded people and be supported and be a supporter!!!

If you dont mind me being over the pond?

Missy welcome to this awesome forum. We don't care where your from. The more the merrier. Any questions that you have feel free to ask. I'm sure someone will be able to give you an answer. Good luck on your surgery.

Ah Thank you that is very kind!! I am nervous excited and overwhelmed trying to get my self together for the lovely milk diet! How far are you in? X

I'm just 1 month out. I feel great and I've lost 36 pounds.

Welcome England chick! Ugave a friend from there. We met on line & been friends over 5 years. So England people rock!! Lolz.. Like Bernie said (hope she don't kill me if I spell the name wrong) the more the merrier.

How very true. So where are you in the cycle of surgery I have 31 days till surgery for a rny gastric bypass. I am learning things every day but looking forward to feeling so much better about me and being able to do more! I am lucky my husband is very supportive or I wouldn't be able to do this alone. And now pleased to be meeting people who feel the same x

Hi Missy, I am a Newbie also. My surgery is scheduled for May 30 ..Wow just realized only a week away! I am excited also . Not so much nervous about the actual surgery more about the after...but so glad to find this site! Lots of support .

      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

      Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
