South Beach Diet Bandsters???

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I did much better yesterday. I ate a lot more Protein and I am on my way to the store today to get stuff for the week that will make it easy on me.

I do better on the weekend when I am not rushed for time.

Today's goal: 64+ oz Water, 1800 calories or less & exercise!

Hey!

Today I had a 3 egg cheese omlette with sauteed mushrooms for Breakfast, and lunch was some chicken and 2 pieces of brocollie from a chinese restaurant we went to eat at.

Liquids: 40 ounces so far!

I am going to rest from exercise today.

I am more hungry today! I forgot to take my QuickSlim30 and I can tell!

But it is almost 4pm and if I take it now, I may not sleep well.

I did take my 1 tbsp. of Glacial Milk liquid Vitamin and I started taking 1 Biotin in the morning.

I have been "Water loading" like Sandy from smarterbandsters advises, which means drinking as much as you can before a meal. Dr. Ortiz advises no drinking for 1 hour, but I think if I haven't had my Water intake, I will do this. I do follow the No water for 1 hour after though.

Thank God I am doing South Beach because I feel like I can eat and my appetite feels normal. I don't push myself though.

How is everyone else???

What types of goals do we have for this week???

Let's keep each other going!!!

I was not at all at the beach this weekend. I went to a friend's house yesterday and they were all eating candy and I gave into temptation and had some too. Today at the super bowl party I went to, everyone was snacking and there wasn't anything there that I was supposed to have. I told myself before I left the house that I would be fine just sipping on Water. But I ended up eating some cheese and crackers.

I will do better now that the weekend is over and I am back on my regular routine. I hope once I get my fill that snack foods won't look appealing to me because I will feel full. It's just so hard to watch other people eat bad things!

I did pretty good today. I drank all my Water, I exercised way harder than I thought I was going to and I ate about 2000 calories. I wanted to eat less than 1800 but after the workout I had I don't fault my extra 200 calories at all.

Denise 822, I hear you about the Superbowl. I just went and hung out at a friend's house and thankfully, there wasn't much there to tempt me. I am opposite of you in that I seem to do better on the weekends than during the week.

Morning ladies: Hey Audrey what is the recipe for chicken mozzerela balls? Those sound really good.

I actually bought them at Sams Club. They are all natural, no preservatives and very tasty. I put a little marinara on them and have a good meal. I used to only be able to have 4, but now I can have 8!!!

Bye Bye restriction!!!

I am so glad to be doing south beach or I think I'd be losing control by now.

Hi, I just started today for my 2 week pre-op diet.

For breakfast I had 2 turkey sausage patties and 2 boiled eggs.

Snack- string cheese

For lunch, I brought some lettuce rollup (turkey and cheese) and Jello. I thought about getting a small side salad, but it has pecans in it.

Are pecans okay for the 1st 2 week? I just got the book last night from a friend and I haven't had a chance to read it. Thanks for any info.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
