Im so upset :(

Recommended Posts

I haven't been feeling "right" the last couple of days. I don't know. I just haven't been feeling like everything was normal. This morning i got stuck. I mean really stuck. I went to the doctor and asked them to send me for an Upper GI. I knew i had slipped. Low and behold...My Nurse practioner thinks so too. :( My surgeon wasn't in tdy. So i have to do clear liquidsprotein shakes the next too days.I will see my surgeon on friday. I am soooo scared. I don't want to loose my band. This band has saved my life. I need advice or something..

Hang in there. They may be able to do an unfill and let the band slip back in place. Just take it one day at a time and wait until you get all the results before so much worry. Stay on liquids and soft foods until you can get to see the doctor on Friday.

Let us know how you are doing.

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting stuck? Did you get the stomach flu or vomitting ( my biggest fear)? Do you ever feel you over packed the pouch? I am just curious since I am a new bandster and wonder if the band slipps for a reason or if it can just happened?

Thanks! I will also pray for you that your band slips right back where it needs to be!!

Hey, Kristen, hang in there. I understand slipped bands if caught early and unfilled have a substantial probability of correcting themselves. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Good Journey,

Terri

PS If it can slip one way, it can slip the other way.

I haven't had any symptoms..I am still restriced and haven't had any pain or reflux..I did vomit cause i got stuck but they don't think it was caused by that. I will keep everyone updated.

I would bet that your band has not slipped. Worry is a problem of its own. Slipage is very rare, worry is very common. A quick check with a Flouroscope and some Barrium is easy, your Dr. will know. I have my fills at fillcenterusa in Tampa/St. Pete and they check every time. All is OK.

Doctor Called last night. My Surgeon looked at my upper GI pics and thinks everything is ok (thank god)..He thinks it just the way they had me standing. The bad news is that i am totally UNFILLED .. I got tommorow for "some fluid" but i can't have everything back for a few more days :)

So happy for you!!! Great news that your band did not slip. I guess it is probably all of our fears.

Hang in there. I am sure being unfilled is vey difficult but you can do it!! Kepp up the good work and before you know it, you'll be back on track.

Best of luck and again, sooooooo happy for you:clap2:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
