I am almost 4 weeks post op and down 18 lbs. I am doing 30 mins on the elliptical and then free weight exercises for my arms. I plan to add more weight lifting exercises once the doc gives me the okay in a few weeks. I am doing this four days a week. I would like to try some Zumba classes. They sound like fun.

I do cardio (walking/jogging) on the treadmill on tuesday's and thursdays....on monday, wenesdays and fridays I weight train....so I work out 5 days a week! I'm kinda frustrated because I have only lost 8 lbs in the last 3 weeks and this morning the scale tried to telling me I gained 11 lbs.....I have no clue how that happened!

I walk as often as I can and on average four days a week. Started with about a mile and have been doing 2.5 to 3 miles for quite some time now. I don't jog but I don't saunter either. Guess I'd call it a fast walk. Didn't do any weight training until this week. I lost some muscle mass in my upper arms so I'm trying to get some of that back. But I have to say that I feel absolutely great and look forward to walking. I started walking on my treadmill but soon changed to walking in a park near my home. I enjoy the park more and so does my black lab. I'm 27 weeks post-op and it took several months but at this point I'm really quite addicted to walking. There is absolutely no question in my mind that walking has helped me enormously with the weight loss. I also feel better, physically and mentally, when I walk. I have noticed that I get tense and irritable when I don't walk for two or three days. Can't explain it but it definitely happens.

I have just started walking & working up to running with a group here called "Mom's on the Run". Cool group of women at all levels of running.I am also going to get back to Zumba soon.

I will defiantly have to try it! My gym offers it a few times a week...I'm just afraid that I'm not going to catch on fast enough and look silly. Guess I need to get over that. :)

I just started the couch to 5k program. Designed to train couch potatoes to run a 5k in about 12 weeks. I love it!! You start out so simple, you download the app from I tunes and it tells you when to jog, walk, and cool down! My doc told me about this and I love it! I also use the elliptical and lift weights.

I'm going to the gym 3x a week. I do 2hrs every time I go, 60mins cardio (30mins treadmill & 30mins elliptical) and 1hr of Zumba! I love it! Feeling very energized!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
